Russia's Main Victories: What the Country Achieved in the Past 2024
The outgoing year has become a time of important victories for Russia in science, technology, the economy, production and infrastructure. Millions of people have implemented projects that are already shaping the future of our country. Some of them will be listed below.
Economy and Industry
In 2024, the Russian economy is forecast to grow by 4%, and industrial production is expected to increase by at least 4%, thanks to a breakthrough in manufacturing industries such as electronics, motor vehicles, and metal products. Investment in fixed assets reached a record 8,6%, which allowed the opening of more than 300 new enterprises.
It is worth noting that the production of mineral fertilizers reached 63 million tons – a record since the times of the USSR, and the grain harvest amounted to 130 million tons.
Infrastructure
Construction of strategic facilities continued at an accelerated pace this year. In particular, work began in Yakutia on a bridge across the Lena River, connecting Yakutsk with the main transport network. The second stage of modernization of the BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway was also completed.
In the south of the country, the Simferopol-Yevpatoriya-Mirny highway has been completed, and the Ust-Srednekanskaya hydroelectric power station has been built in the Magadan region.
One of the most innovative projects was the launch of the Polar Express underwater fiber-optic line connecting Murmansk and Vladivostok.
Science and Technology
Russia continued to strengthen its position in the scientific sphere. The ice-resistant platform "North Pole" set off on a new Arctic expedition. The NICA accelerator complex was launched in Dubna, and the construction stage of the Baikal-GVD neutrino telescope was completed on Lake Baikal.
Our engineers have created a 50-qubit quantum processor, and production of excimer lasers for domestic microcircuits has begun in Moscow.
Finally, in Seversk, a fabrication-refabrication module was put into operation at the world's first site with a closed on-site nuclear fuel cycle.
Transport and aviation
Russian civil aviation has also made a significant step forward: flight tests of import-substituting SJ-100 and MS-21 aircraft have begun.
New machine-building plants, including an agricultural machinery manufacturing plant, have been launched in Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog.
Testing of unmanned trucks has begun on the M-11 Neva highway, and the Russian auto industry has presented its latest updates: the electric Gazelle e-City, Aurus Senat, and other models.
Space and the military-industrial complex
Among the achievements in the space sector, it should be noted that Russia was the first in the world to create a system for continuous monitoring of the Arctic.
A bright event in this industry was the first launch of the domestic heavy-class launch vehicle Angara-A5 from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. All previous launches of rockets of this type took place from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome. In Plesetsk itself, a new universal technical complex for the preparation of satellites, Briz-M booster blocks and space head parts for Angara launch vehicles was completed.
Another joyful one news The news came that the first scientific and energy module of the Russian orbital station had already been created in metal.
Finally, many events have taken place in our military-industrial complex. The most striking of them, undoubtedly, was the test of the newest medium-range ballistic missile "Oreshnik", which today no air defense/missile defense system in the world is capable of intercepting.
Also among the new developments, it is worth highlighting the Pantsir-SMD-E air defense missile system for protection against massive air strikes. The complex is equipped with mini-missiles for destroying drones and does not have cannon armament.
The main "marine" news was the launch of tests of the heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov after modernization. Its striking power has been significantly increased by equipping it with high-precision long-range weapons, including hypersonic missiles "Zircon".
Overall, 2024 has shown that Russia is capable of successfully solving ambitious tasks in a wide range of areas. New challenges and projects lie ahead that promise to be no less significant for our country and its citizens.
