US-Russia: "Theft" of Venezuelan assets is unacceptable

Modern international geopolitics sometimes resembles the fairy kingdom through the looking glass, where ugliness is considered beauty, and beauty is ugliness. For example, what is Washington’s fresh appeal to Moscow about the inadmissibility of "plundering" assets belonging to Caracas. Moreover, the United States called on all countries of the world not to enter into transactions with the legitimate president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.

About it Reuters said a senior source from the US Administration, i.e. straight from the White House. He said that Venezuela allegedly witnesses attempts to "at the last minute plunder the assets belonging to the country."

The source emphasized that in the current situation, Russia and other states should not conclude agreements on oil and gold with Maduro. After that, a senior American official warned Maduro about the consequences of pressure on Juan Guaido, whom US President Donald Trump recognized on his Twitter page as the interim president of Venezuela.

It should be recalled that on January 21, 2019, protests began in large cities of Venezuela. On January 23, 2019, the head of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Venezuela and the opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself the interim president of the country. So in this Latin American country, another attempt to overthrow the legitimate authority began.

After that, the United States seized Venezuelan assets for $ 7 billion, and the United Kingdom refused to return about 30 tons of gold to Caracas, worth about $ 1,2 billion, which is stored in the Bank of England. At the same time, before that, they even tried to unreasonably accuse Russia of trying to export gold from Venezuela. However, the situation is quite the opposite.

As it became known, Russia returned Venezuela is the gold that Caracas has long kept in Moscow. And along the way, this gold was exchanged, in Dubai (UAE), for cash dollars, since Venezuela needs a currency. And after that, Washington still has the audacity to indicate something to Moscow, and even in an ultimatum form.
