What did the “secret” Russian board carry to Venezuela?

3
Some scandalous journalists, especially liberal ones, hastened to create a “sensation” from scratch. Their attention was drawn to the flight of a Nordwind Boeing 777 passenger plane from Moscow to Caracas.

According to persons prone to conspiracy theories, the plane took off on January 28 without passengers, and 11 hours later returned to Moscow Vnukovo Airport. After that, a lot of assumptions rained down: what was on board this "mysterious" aircraft? Some claimed that fighters of a Russian private military company were brought to Venezuela on this flight, others suggested that it was a weapon, and others developed a theory about Venezuelan gold, which the plane allegedly brought to Russia.

Unfortunately, all this conspiracy theological nonsense causes real harm to the national interests of the country. The United States and its allies, trying to overthrow the legitimate authority in Venezuela, managed to break out in anti-Russian statements that threatened Moscow with responsibility for supporting Caracas.

Amid Washington’s open intervention in the internal affairs of the Latin American state, such statements look frankly shameless. But this is a separate issue, but for now the question remains - who (or what) was transported by that same “mysterious” board?

Newspaper "TVNZ" contacted Nordwind about this. There they denied all speculation on this score, but confirmed that there really was a flight to Venezuela.

This is a regular charter flight. There were passengers on it. Who they were and why they flew there, we do not disclose. I can tell you for sure - no weapons, fighters of a private military company or gold were on board and could not be

- a representative of Nordwind told the newspaper. He added that the airline is civilian and complies with all flight and customs regulations. Therefore, to carry weapons on board the aircraft is impossible.

Earlier, rumors on this subject were denied by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov. According to him, all assumptions about PMCs, weapons or Venezuelan gold do not hold water.

Meanwhile, Washington accuses Russia of striving to "plunder" the assets of Venezuela. At the same time, the American administration relies on rumors about the export of Venezuelan gold. Such accusations sound extremely cynical against the background of tougher US sanctions against the Latin American state, the impudent West appropriating Venezuelan assets and transferring them to the control of the US protege - the self-proclaimed "president" Juan Guaido.
