19FortyFive: China Takes Sixth-Generation Jet Lead, But Not for Long

13

While China is pulling ahead in the race for a sixth-generation fighter jet with demonstration of the prototype, other countries, primarily the United States, are already ready to catch up and overtake it, notes the portal 19FortyFive.

The online publication notes that, although we can still talk about prototypes of the latest machines and their possible characteristics with a certain amount of speculation, it is already clear that Beijing has received a breakthrough aircraft with an emphasis on Technology stealth.

Its configuration, as the resource notes, suggests that the aircraft shown is potentially capable of performing the roles of both gaining air superiority and striking enemy ground targets.

Although China has pulled ahead today, potential adversaries are only slightly behind China. These include, first and foremost, the United States with its NGAD and F/A-XX initiatives, as well as the joint project of Japan, Italy and Britain – Tempest.

Other powers also have their own specific developments in this direction, although Russia has apparently put its plans on hold until the end of the Ukrainian conflict.

In the meantime, the very fact that China has such an aircraft is causing alarm in the West.

At the same time, as noted, the very concept of “sixth generation” today still seems rather vague.

There is an opinion that such a machine should be able to do the same things as the fifth generation, but at a more advanced level, including other stealth characteristics in all spectrums.

It is expected that sixth-generation aircraft will be armed with laser and other energy weapons.

The Americans have nothing now. They have postponed and are reviewing their sixth generation program, because they don't even know what they want and what to strive for! Now they are sitting and scratching their heads to get money!
And the strange unification of Europeans with Japan looks very dubious in perspective and in the final result.
We are generally far behind, we are just finishing the 57th with great difficulty!
And the Chinese already have some kind of prototype flying! They are ahead of everyone by at least 10 or even 15 years!

In jokes, only if they overtake.

Like in that joke: and you also say that you can 3 times a day)

Ah, well, I see that you already have a flying model, and not even a concept in metal, this is the same as the village with the tongue for the rest.
Of course, we've already seen so many flying examples of the next generation from all the other participants, and this just turns out to be another one!

Why do we need a sixth generation aircraft, and then catch up with the plus, we are immediately taking on the seventh generation, invisible, inaudible and the highest speed.

yes, yes, they overtake, they overtake...
military equipment must go through battles, wars, to understand what it is capable of in today's realities
what resource, what opportunities are not on paper (we all remember about the ravines)
otherwise they started an advertising race, 5th generation-6th-7th
just to sell, cheap and cheerful

What the 6th are developing, and successfully - this is the logic of progress. Nothing can be done. And then there is the HPP with its new arms race.

In appearance - IMHO - it is a combination of the old approach to the 6th (flights near space, range and speed) with the new one (stealth and a swarm of UAVs).

but we have "CHECKMATE". For everyone.

6th generation, this is a suborbital bomber. I doubt that anyone has come close to this, except for the USSR with its Spiral...

Why so weak? Give us the 12th generation! Give us spaceships!

It's impossible to read all this without smiling.

China doesn't have engines, God only knows what they have with radar. I won't even mention many other things. It's funny.

Laughter without reason is a sign of foolishness

About twenty or thirty years ago you were laughing at China, like it copies everything and can't create anything on its own. Now China has become a powerful country, second only to the USA. Russia is trailing behind, slipping into a secondary power, incapable of either war or creation. So laugh less, in some cases it's better for representatives of loser countries to keep quiet...

        George,

        1. There is no laughter, there is a smile. Are you unable to read this in my message?
        2. There is even a reason to laugh - it is in the photo. It is in fact just a UAV, an analogue of our hunter. Nothing more.
        3. Funny or not, but... China still can't create ANYTHING on its own. Wow, what a discovery, right?)
        4. There is no 6th generation, not even as a concept. Even the 5th generation is called the fifth with a big stretch. Something like that.

        Are you surprised?
