Germany is defenseless against Putin's 'super missile' – Bild
The German newspaper Bild, citing a "secret" report from the Foreign Ministry, laments the impossibility of the Bundeswehr air defense intercepting the Russian Oreshnik missile. It is reported that the document was prepared in connection with the preparation of the deployment of these MRBMs in Belarus.
In early December, Putin threatened to deploy Oreshnik missiles in Belarus – and thus closer to Germany. Now the German Foreign Ministry warns in an internal document: Germany is not protected from this mortal danger!
– Bild panics.
Analysts analyzed the speed characteristics of the Oreshnik and the capabilities of the Patriot air defense missile systems at the disposal of the Bundeswehr. The conclusions disappointed the German Foreign Ministry: the American air defense system will miss the strike of the Russian hypersonic missile.
Bitter realization: Germany would be defenseless against an Oreshnik attack. With Patriot systems, the Bundeswehr currently has no effective means of defense against such ballistic missiles
– the German newspaper laments.
The publication notes that the gap in the defense could be closed by the Israeli Arrow missile defense system. The German government is already allegedly negotiating with Tel Aviv about the delivery of such a system.
