Russian Foreign Ministry: Military doctrines of a number of countries returned to the last century

The Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the paradox that occurs with a number of nuclear-weapon countries.

Speaking at the Beijing Nuclear Five conference, Oleg Rozhkov, deputy director of the Department of Security and Disarmament Affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that Russia was worried about the development of military doctrines and military thought in a number of countries, which had been reversed.

According to him, now you can see a rollback during the Cold War, when the use of nuclear weapons was considered acceptable to achieve military goals.

Speaking about the conference, the Russian diplomat noted that such meetings are of great importance, especially in cases where it is impossible to establish a bilateral dialogue with one of the five countries.

Apparently, in this case it was about the United States, which announced its withdrawal from the DRMSD and intends to avoid the very possibility of a dialogue with Russia.

The head of the department expressed his conviction that any attempts on the part of individual countries to violate the "Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons" can be decided by the international community on the basis of the treaty itself, without going beyond international law and taking into account the interests and security of all states.
