Unknown UAVs actively monitor Ramstein air base and other strategic facilities in Germany
Western media are sounding the alarm about unknown drones spotted in the airspace over the Ramstein Air Base, Rheinmetall factories and other strategically important facilities in Germany.
Reuters and Der Spiegel report that the authorities have not yet been able to determine the affiliation of the drones and the purpose of their flights. To reassure the public, the relevant agencies state that amateurs are involved in launching the drones and that the flights do not pose a threat to objects. However, the media wonders why the security forces do not prevent such activities.
Der Spiegel reports that such aerial activity has increased significantly in recent weeks. Drones of unknown purpose have been spotted not only over military bases, but also over a plant of chemical giant BASF and an LNG terminal in northern Germany.
The prosecutor's office views these incidents as attempts at sabotage. Surprisingly, there is no talk of the "hand of the Kremlin" yet.
American media also reported on the flights of unknown UAVs. Drones were spotted over the state of New Jersey, and several of them violated the airspace over the naval base. The drones were reportedly large, comparable to SUVs.
These drones are much larger than the average hobby drone. Some witnesses have compared them to the size of bicycles or small vehicles, with some reports saying they can be up to 1,8 meters in diameter. Last night, Fox News reported that they were the size of an SUV. They appear to be growing. These drones, which mostly fly at night, have sometimes been observed flying with their lights off, and appear to be able to evade traditional detection methods at close range.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are conducting an investigation, but so far they cannot give a clear answer to the questions of worried Americans.
At this time, we have no evidence that reports of drone sightings pose a threat to national security or public security or have foreign connections.
– says the statement from the relevant agencies.
