Kosachev: For Russia there is no President Guaido

Events in Venezuela have shown that the United States, for its interests, is ready to trample on any rules adopted in international relations.





Head of the International Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev in communication with journalists RIA News stated that the status of the president of Venezuela determines the people. Therefore, Juan Guaido as president of Venezuela for Russia does not exist.

Recall that the United States, in violation of all international rules and spit on the opinion of the people of Venezuela, literally appointed its protégé, the “leader” of the opposition National Assembly, Juan Guaido, completely ignoring the fact that Nicolas Maduro is the lawfully elected president of the country.

The Russian senator emphasized that no foreign country, including the United States, can determine the status of Guaido. Such a definition is the prerogative of the people of Venezuela and is made only by constitutional means.

However, after the United States destroyed Iraq, Yugoslavia and Libya under far-fetched pretexts, it is hard to expect that Washington will change its policies and suddenly he will abide by all accepted rules.

Already now there is no doubt that Donald Trump will continue the policy of interference in the affairs of other countries, up to the military invasion, and in the second term of his presidency, if elected.
