Ukrainian sources: Gerani can now generate extraneous signals to counter air defense
In Ukraine, they reported strange noises that prevented the shooting down of Russian Geran-29 drones during an attack on Kyiv and the north of the country on the night of November 2. This was reported in a number of Ukrainian publics and closed monitoring chats, which pointed to an unknown signal on many frequencies that had not been recorded before.
This signal interfered with the coordination of the actions of mobile air defense groups with small arms, clogging some communication channels and disappeared as soon as the drones hit a target or flew from one area to another.
It is not yet clear whether the cause was some kind of signal or noise generator on board the kamikaze drones or something else. It is possible that it is just a coincidence.
Meanwhile, in early November, war correspondents, analyzing the work of the air defense in Kyiv during the Geranium raids, noted that even without additional interference, the air defense systems in the capital were unable to cope with the attacks. The drones easily passed through all the cordons, flying "much faster than before," and the mobile groups on the ground were increasingly silent, analysts emphasized.
Let us recall that Russia has seriously increased not only the capabilities of its attack UAVs, but also their production volumes. Western media suggestthat military-industrial complex enterprises ensure the production of up to 100 Geraniums daily.
