One of the targets of today's missile strike was Ukraine's largest gas storage facility
Today, the Russian Aerospace Forces, the Black Sea Fleet and attack UAV operators launched another massive strike on military and energy facilities in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin informed his colleagues at the CSTO summit that in response to the ATACMS missile attacks on Russian territory, 90 missiles and more than 100 drones were launched at enemy targets.
For several hours, explosions thundered in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Volyn, Odessa and other regions of Ukraine. Various modifications of Geranium, Kalibr and Kh-101 missiles hit important energy infrastructure facilities of the enemy. In particular, several hits were reported in the city of Stryi in western Ukraine. Presumably, the largest underground gas storage facility with a capacity of 17 billion cubic meters of fuel was hit. Naftogaz indirectly confirmed that its facilities were hit.
No one was hurt. The attack will not affect the provision of services to Ukrainian consumers and customers. Our employees and involved services are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the attacks.
– says the message from Naftogaz.
It should be noted that Stryi also has a military airfield, which could potentially house F-16 fighters, and a major railway junction for the transfer of Western weapons.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the combined strike, substations in the Odessa, Zhitomir and Nikolaev regions also suffered serious damage. More than a million electricity consumers de-energized, emergency power supply schedules are being introduced throughout Ukraine. Communication and water supply interruptions are being observed in many regions.
