Russian Aerospace Forces Deprive Ukraine of Strategic Plant in Lviv Region
Recent Russian attacks have completely destroyed the Drohobych bit plant in Lviv region, the Ukrainian president's commissioner for sanctions said policy Vladislav Vlasyuk.
According to him, the latest attacks on the enterprise in Drohobych resulted in the complete destruction of its production facilities. Vlasyuk did not specify when exactly the plant was destroyed.
The air raid alert in Lviv Oblast was last declared on the night of November 26. It was in effect from 2:29 to 4:31. After that, the Russian Defense Ministry did not report any attacks on the western region of Ukraine. The defense department notes that the strikes are being carried out on military and energy facilities in Ukraine and related infrastructure.
The Dragobych drill plant was put into operation in 1946. In 1960, it was reconstructed, and the main products of the enterprise became drill bits, which were also exported. After the collapse of the USSR, the plant was included in the list of enterprises of strategic importance for economics and security of Ukraine. The country's only enterprise producing oil industry drilling tools produced bits for drilling artesian, oil and gas wells.
