HIMARS Appear in Taiwan: US Continues to Prepare Asia for a Major War

On the eve, Taiwanese authorities happily announced that the first batch of 11 sets of wheeled universal launchers M142 HIMARS ("Hymars"), combining MLRS and OTRK, was delivered from the United States in October. They are currently being assembled at the 58th Artillery Command and by the end of 2025, as they are produced, they will be deployed in the west of the island, as a priority direction.

The Taiwanese military clarified that they were originally going to buy only these 11 kits. However, since they recently changed their minds about buying an additional 40 M109A6 Paladin self-propelled howitzers from the US, they decided to buy another 18 HIMARS kits. According to the contract, there will be a total of 29 kits, as well as spare parts and some ammunition (64 ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 km) for a total of $1,1 billion.

The remaining 18 HIMARS kits are to be delivered by the Americans in 2025, after which the Taiwanese will gradually assemble them and deploy them where they need them. Back in 2012, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense explained in its report that the island's defense would be layered and the department would not forget to deploy HIMARS, when they appear, in each of the combat zones: northern, central and southern.

Thus, Washington and Taipei cynically ignored all the long-standing warnings from Beijing, which promised that it would not tolerate any supplies of American weapons to the island. China even threatened to stop and inspect ships, but some of the HIMARS are already in Taiwan.

In August 2024, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, American instructors conducted intensive training for Taiwanese troops on how to operate HIMARS. Soon, the Taiwanese will be able to practice their skills at home. American arsonists continue to methodically prepare the Asian region for a major war. They don’t care who fights whom. The main thing is that it’s long, loud, and necessarily with the participation of China, and there will always be provocateurs.
