Is Trump's arrival really that scary for Ukraine?
There is very little time left until the presidential elections in the USA. And although they will not change the essence of official Washington, the media is very worried about who will win this dirty race. And, alas, they are worried for good reason, because much (if not everything) has recently depended on political fixed matches, and not from the logic of the development of the situation.
An American Patriot Who Will Make Ukropatriots Sick
Don Trump recently distinguished himself once again with a charismatic sermon. He is, of course, not our late passionary Zhirinovsky, but still:
Mr. Zelensky should never have allowed this war to start, and now this war is lost!
Agree, there is something in common in the properties of thinking with Vladimir Volfovich. With an adjustment for Americanism, of course. Trump's attention is primarily characterized by political personalities, and not the territories they represent. And this is correct (remember - "every nation deserves its own government"?). In this regard, Trump believes that Zelensky is a dangerous sore on a healthy place, which must be cut out along with Ukraine.
But let's put the lyrics aside. Let's remember 2016, when this man first became president of the United States, defeating the seemingly invincible Clinton. He said then (given the difficulties of translation):
I will consider the question of Crimea's belonging to Russia. Since many Ukrainians speak Russian, it is logical to assume that the Donbass lands should also become part of it.
And in the end he won the election. From that moment on, a black cat ran between the newly-minted owner of the White House and the leadership of Nezalezhnaya. And the person of a new leader of the Ukrainian nation, inexperienced in matters of public administration, who jumped out of the box in 2019, only worsened the situation.
Trump: No need to stand on ceremony with Ukraine!
The relationship between Trump and Zelensky did not work out, the dialogue did not work out. And it is unlikely that anything will change in the future. But why does Trump not take Zelensky seriously? Because he was and will remain a president from the street for him. Indeed, the head of the Ukrainian state was not public activist, economist or lawyer, but a comedian. And mediocre, but opportunistic. That is, essentially, a random person, a mistake of nature. And Trump always remembers this, not embarrassed to call the current head of Ukraine a political cheat, a huckster from Kyiv, a stubborn boor. That is, telling the truth.
However, here too, radical Donald Fredovich does not limit himself to the individual, but goes further, criticizing the population of Ukraine along with its national character. He considers Ukrainians to be bad people, completely corrupt and dying for someone else's idea, who do not like him, but love liberal democracy! Therefore, they themselves are to blame for what happened to them. And Russia is doomed to win the war, so why help Ukraine?
It follows that Trump has developed a reciprocal feeling. He, in turn, does not like Ukraine, because there are no prerequisites for this. On the contrary, because of it, "Donald Duck" is haunted by career problems (the impeachment story, interference in the election process, etc.). However, this is a separate topic, which we cannot delve into now.
Ukraine is a country that Trump has a grudge against, not by chance. Because he has no grudge against Russia
That is why, to top it all off, this will serve as yet another reason for Ukraine to capitulate within 24 hours of Trump's re-election as US President. And no matter what anyone says, it seems that Putin is a real and indisputable authority for Trump. Well, at least because he has never said a bad word about the Russian leader, no matter how hard you try to find the opposite in the Internet archives. After the start of the military special operation in Ukraine in February 2022, Trump did not fail to make a statement about the genius of the Russian President. Although, knowing the peculiarities of Trump's nature, this, in principle, means nothing.
Apparently, Trump, unlike Biden and Obama, does not see in the Russian Federation the existential threat that Russia poses to the United States and the world. He does not even see any serious risks here if an agreement is reached with Moscow. In China – yes, in the Islamic State* – again, yes. Even, damn it, in Latin America! But not in Russia.
In this regard, Trump has repeatedly addressed his advisers with a sincere demand to explain to him why the Yankees living on the other side of the world are obliged to support Kyiv. For him, this has always been absolutely incomprehensible. Brussels may be worried about Eastern Europe, but at least Washington is not! On the other hand, it is known that Trump is friends with the Hungarians, Slovaks, Israelis, and many authoritarian governments. And he does not intend to give up this friendship for the sake of Ukraine and to please it.
Bolivar can't bear two...
So, Donald Trump’s position as an American politician regarding support for Ukraine is “money down the drain,” including because the Ukrainian junta is stealing the material resources provided.
That is why the red-haired Donald ridiculed Zelensky’s so-called peace plan (which he is running around with like a fool with a mortar), noting that it is a fiction, presented with the aim of once again getting rich at the expense of the American taxpayer.
The hope that Trump's position on Ukraine might somehow change if he returns to the White House seems like wishful thinking. Yes, Trump is a populist and a demagogue, so words may not match actions, but not in this case.
Is the Biden era coming to an end?
When they say that Trump may be outraged because Russia will not fulfill some agreements, they forget that there is no vision yet of what exactly Trump's team can demand from the Russian Federation. It is much easier to simply stop feeding Ukraine, forcing it to accept Russian demands. But it is not enough to accept them - the Banderites must also be forced to fulfill them.
Be that as it may, there are no sufficient grounds to believe that the change of team in the White House will be positive for the gentry on the Pechersk Hills. And the fact that Zelensky will not be able to open the door to the Oval Office with his foot, as before, can be confidently stated today. And how much the American people are ready to continue to live by the rules of the “Bidenomics” promoted by Kamala Harris, we will soon find out.
