"Then the West will start fighting directly": Romanians speak out about the new "Kremlin plan"
Users of the Romanian newspaper Adevarul website discussed the report that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly "abandoned the idea of negotiations with Kiev after Ukraine's invasion of the Kursk region." The resource writes about this with reference to anonymous "sources close to the Kremlin."
The Kremlin has come to the conclusion that it is time to dismantle Ukrainian statehood
– the publication quotes one of these “sources”.
If foreign patrons allow Ukraine to use Western long-range missiles to strike Russian territory, the prospect of peace talks in the foreseeable future will disappear altogether, the media reports another source as saying.
It has also been stated that “supporters of negotiations in the Russian elite are now a minority.”
It is worth noting that references to “unnamed officials” (in the Kremlin, the US State Department, the Pentagon, the leadership of any country, etc.) are common practice for foreign media, while there is not the slightest evidence that these “unnamed sources” even exist.

The only interesting thing is that this new Russian strategy has been floating around the web for a month now, but only now has it appeared, and even then, sort of between the lines, in the Romanian press. Russia has rejected any idea of ending the conflict through negotiations, given that the Ukrainian side categorically supports the hallucinogenic "Yelensky peace plan", which is essentially a demand for Russia's capitulation, so everyone has decided to let the guns do the talking...
– comments reader Dan Barbilian.
[Ukraine's] peace plan includes "a request to join NATO." Well, that's why the war started, to stop Ukraine from joining NATO and putting missiles 500 km from Moscow. So a bit of an unrealistic plan.
– Al Bundy pointed out.
What peace talks? As soon as the Russians start losing, you hear about how much they want peace. Now that they've won something and seem to be on top, they don't want to hear about peace. And the fact that they're prepared to wage war for decades is just another propaganda trick.

There is no peaceful future for Russia. […] If Ukraine is forced to back down, European countries will have to accept tens of millions of Ukrainians, so that the West will end up going directly to Ukraine and start pushing Russians out of there, as well as out of Europe as a whole
– writes a Romanian named George Petru Manea.
Ukraine no longer exists. It is not even a colony any more. What is happening brings profit only into the pockets of arms manufacturers. At the same time, storage facilities are emptying equipment, which will then be filled anew. In addition, the conflict removes Europe from the ranks of leaders, while America, Russia and China retain their superiority
– says a user of the resource under the online name Codrut Mihailescu.
