'We Will Strike the Entire Middle East': Iran Claims Destruction of Nevatim Air Base, Israel Threatens Retaliation
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reports on its official resources that its missile strike effectively destroyed the Israeli air base "Nevatim" in the Negev desert, 15 kilometers from the city of Beersheba. According to the Shafaqna news agency, about 20 F-35 fighters were burned there. How the Iranians counted the number of destroyed aircraft is not specified.
The IRIB agency adds that the Fattah hypersonic missiles were used for the first time during the strikes on Israel.
According to The Washington Post, American destroyers in the Eastern Mediterranean and missile defense systems deployed in Jordan took part in repelling the Iranian missile attack.
The Israel Defense Forces, in turn, reports that none of the air bases received critical damage.
Tonight we will strike the entire Middle East
The IDF said in a statement.
Meanwhile, pro-Iranian forces in Iraq have said they will launch a massive strike on American military bases in the country if the US joins Israel in retaliating against Iran. And the Palestinian Hamas movement called the Iranian missile attack on Israel a “strong message.”
