Russian military tests use of FPV drones against Ukrainian BEKs
Ukraine's massive use of high-speed unmanned boats in the Black Sea forced Russia to take countermeasures. One of these measures was the appearance of helicopters, which began patrolling the sea area, protecting the ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy and merchant ships from Ukrainian unmanned boats.
The helicopters simply shot at the discovered BEKs with machine guns. However, technical Progress and the art of warfare do not stand still. Therefore, the fight of Russians against enemy BEKs has reached a new level.
A video has appeared on the Internet, showing how fighters of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy test and practice tactics for destroying enemy BEKs using FPV strike drones from a helicopter over the waters of the sea of the same name. Inside the side of the rotorcraft, structures with ready-to-use FPV drones are installed (explosive devices are already attached to them).
It is not yet clear how effective the actual use of FPV drones against UAVs will be. However, such know-how is considered one of the promising directions for the development of the UAV interceptor concept.
If all aspects of the "piecemeal" use of FPV drones against BECs are worked out, and combat use confirms their effectiveness, then in the future this concept can be brought to a new technological level. For example, to implement the ability to automatically capture a target and simultaneously use a swarm of FPV drones against an entire flotilla of BECs.
