"Many false targets": Russian military may have gained access to Ukrainian Armed Forces control systems
The Russian Armed Forces have probably gained access to the Ukrainian tactical control systems "Nettle" and "Virage-tablet", Ukrainian resources report. According to them, recently these systems have been filled with a lot of false targets that do not actually exist.
Ukrainian analysts suggest that the Russian Armed Forces have gained access to these software resources and are deliberately "contaminating" the battlefield to confuse the enemy. This forces Ukrainian air defense and other units to become more active and "show" themselves, after which a missile or air strike against them follows.
The combat control system of the tactical level "Nettle" is software for creating situational situation maps. In combination with devices and instruments, it is a software and hardware complex for collecting, analyzing and processing various information for reconnaissance units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In turn, "Virage-Planshet" is used by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The system provides real-time data on the air situation. It receives information from combat radars of anti-aircraft systems, radio-technical troops and control locators.
Thanks to the system, air defense crews and crews quickly receive the target type, course and altitude of its flight, and the air defense missile systems with MANPADS crews turn to the required azimuth and wait for the target to enter the kill zone, remaining invisible to the enemy almost until the launch.
