The discrediting of Russia, on which the American and European propaganda mechanisms are working hard, is bearing directly opposite fruits - in the West there is growing interest in our country, which is manifested in the growth of tourism in Russia.
The head of the Federal Tourism Agency Oleg Safonov announced interesting figures - in 2017 the number of American tourists visiting the Russian Federation increased by 25% compared to 2016. And this despite the fact that the American press regularly publishes articles about how bad it is in Russia, what a terrible and undeveloped country it is. The Department of State even included Russia in the list of extremely dangerous countries to visit, along with warring African states like Chad and Somalia.
What makes Americans go to Russia? First of all, this is the desire to see with your own eyes the "nightmare" about which the American press writes. Having been in Russia, the Americans are returning in shock - not the imaginary horrors of our country, but the scale of the lies of American propaganda. Expecting to see some kind of gloomy country with a depressed and embittered population, Americans come to Russia and see normal people, sights, and a friendly attitude towards foreigners. Their attitude to our country and to their own media is reversed.
Attraction of foreign tourists to Russia is currently considered as an important direction of the country's economic development. A federal targeted program aimed at increasing the tourist attractiveness of Russia for foreigners is envisaged. It is planned to spend 2025 billion rubles on its implementation until 387,6. By 2022, it is planned to increase the tourist flow to the Russian Federation by 20-25%. For this, both the state and business will have to invest heavily in the development of tourism, social, transport infrastructure, put in order the main attractions and cultural objects that can cause interest among foreign tourists.
Of course, a very large-scale flow of tourists will arrive in Russia during the summer 2018 World Cup. This sporting event of world significance will play a very important role in increasing the interest of foreign tourists in our country. Therefore, in those cities where the mundial will be held, improvement work is being carried out, a comfortable environment is being created for foreign and Russian guests. So far, at least 1,5 million foreign tourists are expected to arrive in Rosturism - a whole rather big city by Russian standards.
