The MS-21 has been shortened: preparations for serial production are underway

17

Engineers are studying the possibility of shortening the fuselage of the Russian MS-21 aircraft by one section. This was reported in an interview with the newspaper "Vedomosti" said First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. According to him, this decision will increase the efficiency of the aircraft's operation.

In the process of implementing plans to create Russian analogues of our aircraft systems and avionics, it is also necessary to adapt the design itself to them. A good option would be to make an additional version of the aircraft fuselage shortened by one section. This will allow airlines to operate the aircraft more efficiently, taking into account the resulting weight characteristics, while maintaining the original parameters for flight range with a load of 140-150 people

– said Manturov.

He added that preparations are currently underway for serial production and the aircraft’s design is being finalized.

Answering a question about the possible final cost of the aircraft, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government stated that it is premature to talk about this now.

The catalog price, even on the world market, has not reflected the real cost of acquiring airliners for commercial transportation for a long time, because everything depends on what the leasing rate will be for it. While we are calculating the real volume of costs for the production of this aircraft, taking into account all the new input and delivery start dates, it is almost impossible to calculate the rate. But I predict that it will not differ significantly from what our operators pay for foreign machinery

– emphasized the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

Let us recall that the start of serial production of the MS-21 aircraft was planned back in 2016, but for various reasons these dates were postponed. Currently, the start date of serial production of the domestic airliner is 2026.

Officials have repeatedly announced the launch of the MS-21 on the line in 2030. There is still time until 2030 to shorten or lengthen the MS-21, and most importantly, you can make money by changing the size.

And the most important thing is to shift the deadlines to the right. Let's shorten them!

It seems that they have already announced an extension.
    And the excuse is good.
The "leasing rate" will be to blame for everything

that it will not differ significantly from what our operators pay for foreign equipment,
Your own should be cheaper or will it still not be your own?

      Your own should be cheaper.

      - this is a mistake. how will it be cheaper? a hypothetical Boeing or Airbus produce hundreds of airplanes a year and spread their fixed costs for the payback of fixed assets and development over these hundreds of airplanes. and we are going to produce dozens of airplanes at best. therefore, in each of them, the share of the price that goes to cover the same plant and development as Boeing will be higher. our plant and Boeing's will cost about the same, there is no need for illusions that high-tech production will appear from somewhere much cheaper than in hypothetical America. probably, something can be saved on development if our hypothetical engineer gets 3 thousand bucks a month, and in America 30. further, the lending rate in their economy is the Fed's accounting rate of 5%, ours is the Central Bank's accounting rate closer to 20%. the market leasing rate will naturally be tied to this rate - leasing is the same loan secured by property acquired with a loan. in the best case, the state will make a preferential rate for the client due to its subsidies, i.e. will take on the costs. in general, it is logical to expect that it will be more expensive and significantly more expensive for us.

There are strategic and tactical goals, tasks. Most discuss tactical tasks.
What to do when liberals have destroyed the industry? Restore and develop it despite the cost. There is no other way. Aircraft production is a strategic goal of the Russian Federation. We must fight to reduce the price of an aircraft. Having our own kerosene, there is no need to discuss how much kerosene it will consume. Let the Russian government pay for the kerosene. If you are chasing savings to the detriment of the development of your aviation, then it is better to take a horse, in the summer it eats grass, in the winter hay and it does not need kerosene. We have come to this point, they cannot repeat the AN-2, and the PRC produces them. In Kazan, they produce the Soviet Tu-204/214, they need to produce 3 of them per month, and the MS-21 are projects with an unknown end aimed at embezzling money.

Hence the conclusion: someone will cut or stretch this aircraft and, in the end, they will buy Boeings and Airbuses.

So it will be more expensive... nothing new...

It's time to create Stalinist sharashkas. These defective managers like Borisov Manturov should be shot. Their property should be confiscated. The plant directors should be paid the bare salary of a Soviet director. Otherwise, such bedlam will last forever. Oh, by the way. A date with your wife should only be based on your work results. request

maybe the problem is in the engine? it does not reach the planned indicators, so they lighten the design....

There, the mass has increased significantly as a result of import substitution, including wings. I think because of this. Now, according to this proposal, they don't want to release an effective product, but to report well

They decided to shorten the MS-21

And you paint it like Khokhloma or Gzhel, maybe then it will fly.

And in my opinion, Deniska simply decided, how to say it, to finish... Or to dispose of, well, certainly not to finance... to finalize??! I would say simply to close.

The weight of the aircraft increased by 6 tons due to import substitution. Given that the payload is 19 tons, and the fuel load is 20 tons. As a result, it is necessary to either reduce the payload by a third, i.e. the number of passengers, or underfill the fuel and reduce the range by a third. The decision was made to reduce the payload since shortening the aircraft will lighten the airframe, which means that the reduction in payload may be less.

Maybe Muscovite should shorten it by one section and produce it from his own parts?
