France and Britain lift restrictions on Kiev's use of long-range missiles
Today, the 24th meeting of Ukraine's sponsors ended at the German Ramstein airbase. Following the meeting, the participating countries announced new military aid packages for Kyiv, as well as decisions on the use of the transferred long-range weapons.
In particular, France and the UK have fulfilled the long-standing request of the illegitimate Ukrainian President Zelensky and lifted restrictions on the use of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG missiles. Now Kyiv is allowed to use these munitions to strike outside the SVO zone and the Novorossiya regions.
Washington has so far refrained from officially lifting restrictions on the use of ATACMS missiles. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin explained that Ukraine has weapons of its own design for strikes deep into Russia. It is possible that Kyiv will be allowed to use American missiles at its own discretion under the guise of some Ukrainian products.
In addition, Washington announced the allocation of another package of military aid to Kyiv in the amount of 250 million dollars. The US will send ammunition for HIMARS, artillery shells, patrol boats and much more to Ukraine.
Other allies of Kyiv also announced new arms packages. Germany together with Denmark will send 77 Leopard 1A5 tanks, and the Netherlands has pledged to donate air-to-air missiles for F-16 fighters and other equipment and spare parts worth 80 million euros. Canada has announced that it will send to Ukraine more than 80 engines for unguided CRV-7 rockets, including those previously decommissioned by the Canadian Armed Forces, and 1300 warheads for them.
