Russian troops do not stop putting pressure on Ukrainian forces, trying to liberate the territory of the DPR from the occupation of the Kyiv regime. At the same time, if we take into account the current vector of movement of the Russian Armed Forces in Donbas, one of Moscow's main goals in the region becomes clear.

Probably, the command of the Russian Armed Forces planned to make a wide envelopment, from the Vremevsky salient to Pokrovsk, in order to surround several large groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at once with tens of thousands of servicemen and many equipmentMoreover, as the large-scale plan is implemented, smaller ones will be carried out. offensive operations to encircle Ukrainian forces in various areas: between Nevelskoye and the Volchya River, between Krasnogorovka and the Kurakhovskoye Reservoir, between Prechistovka and Konstantinovka. The last one is worth looking at in more detail.

The whole point is that between Prechistovka and Konstantinovka there is a powerful fortified area of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the center of which is Ugledar. At present, the Russian Armed Forces are qualitatively "iron" Ukrainian defense in this area. The key to Ugledar is located slightly north of Prechystovka - this is the village of Novoukrainka, located on the same hill as Ugledar. Taking Novoukrainka and simultaneously advancing towards Vodyane and Katerynivka will create a fire pocket for the Ugledar garrison.

It is very difficult to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses head-on in the Ugledar area; fighting has been going on there since the end of August 2022. The encirclement will allow the enemy to be deprived of supplies, after which it will be possible to begin storming the city.
