Russia tests portable drone fighter

7

The Russian company Nova Labs has published footage of tests of the latest domestic portable drone interceptor. It is emphasized that it is equipped with machine vision and is capable of independently recognizing a target and targeting it.

According to the developers, there are currently two ways to launch a drone interceptor. The first involves launching from a hand-held launcher, and the second involves launching from a static tripod.

It is worth noting that the fight against enemy unmanned aerial vehicles is currently one of the main problems of the Russian military not only in the SVO zone, but also in regions far from the line of combat contact. Nationalists regularly attack objects deep in Russian territory using UAVs. And they often achieve good results for themselves.

Russian soldiers in the area of the special military operation compare the drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to mosquitoes, which are almost impossible to get rid of. Currently, the main means of combating enemy UAVs are electronic warfare systems, as well as small arms. However, the need for some kind of universal means that would destroy all types of drones used by nationalist formations is obvious to everyone.

According to military experts, the Kiev regime currently produces three times more unmanned aerial vehicles than the Russian defense industry. And although in recent months the Russian Federation has made a serious step forward in the production of UAVs, it is still too early to talk about complete parity with the enemy in this component.

Let us recall that two days ago, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants launched the most massive drone attack on Russian regions since the beginning of the Second World War. Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 158 drones.

Note. It is difficult to hit a target drone accurately, especially a maneuvering one. It is possible to use star-shaped splitter wings (six or more) on a strike UAV. Then, when maneuvering the target, the possibility of damaging it increases, catching it with a protruding splitter wing.

You're just out of the loop. The interceptor's machine vision allows it to copy all the maneuvers of the target drone. The main thing is that it has a higher speed than the target.

Let me explain. You have somewhat forgotten the physics and inertia of moving objects. The speeds do not differ much, when the attacking drone is aimed at the target, the target can go perpendicularly to the side, and by maneuvering to the side, the target will avoid a direct hit, because inertia will not allow the attacker to change direction so quickly. The extended wings-splitters can catch the target going to the side.

Once again, I say you're out of the loop. The attack drone flies in from below and simply repeats the slightest movement of the target, you can't dodge it. I've written programs like this more than once.

The whole point is that in the near future, in order to avoid defeats, UAVs will not move in a straight line, as they do now. When cutting through approaching objects, a counteraction movement will be triggered. I will not insist, but the elementary vector diagram of the speeds of movement gives an advantage to tangential movement to avoid the movement of the strike vehicle along the normal. In simple terms. lateral movement from the center of collision faster than the catching object can react. But this is in the near future. With today's almost rectilinear movements of UAVs, the direct strike system works. This is an armchair opinion.

    158 drones. Cheap.
Conditionally 158 anti-aircraft missiles. Not cheap.
Vague suspicions that they are repeating our tactics with decoy targets. Which they promoted so much about a year ago.

158 were shot down, but how many were launched? Or is it unknown?
