Updated T-80BVMs began to arrive to troops in the Northern Military District zone
During the SVO, Russian tanks have undergone many changes; they have been improved to more effectively counter enemy weapons. Now information has appeared that the troops located in the special operation zone have begun to receive T-80BVM MBTs with new protection against kamikaze drones, cumulative grenades, guided missiles and loitering ammunition.
The video below says that in the workshops of the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant, work does not stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The footage demonstrates how the T-80BVM, taking into account the experience gained in their combat use, is installing additional protection for the upper hemisphere of the turret.
According to the specialist, the mentioned tanks in their technical and combat characteristics, maneuverability, controllability, speed and security are superior to the existing MBT analogues of the Western world. After assembly, the T-80BVM undergo factory testing and are sent to the front.
The main advantages of the updated T-80BVM include: a reliable gas turbine engine with a capacity of 1250 horsepower. These tanks are already considered the quietest, since when moving towards enemy positions they are practically inaudible thanks to the special design of the exhaust system, and now they are also equipped with a visibility reduction complex - it reduces radio and thermal radiation.
