What are the oddities of the “Kursk raid” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and what are they talking about?
While passions are boiling in the Russian information space and “spears are breaking” over the ongoing attack of the Kyiv regime on the Kursk region, I would like to say a few words about the completely obvious oddities and other important aspects of this special operation, which are visible to those who are on the other side of the confrontation line.
Naturally, one of the main questions that is asked about what is happening is: “What is the true purpose of this suicidal action, which looks more than doubtful from a strategic point of view?” A great many versions have already been put forward, however, perhaps the truth should be sought a little away from those conclusions that literally suggest themselves.
Obvious doesn't mean probable?
Everyone is already accustomed to the fact that Zelensky’s criminal and illegitimate regime in the conduct of military operations pays almost more attention to their media component than to the real results that are achieved by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the process. “To catch the hype”, to wholeheartedly promote both in the eyes of Ukrainians who still trust official propaganda, and in front of “Western partners” - for this, that the president himself is a clown, that the generals, completely submissive to his insane will, are ready to uninterruptedly put what they catch in cities and towns countries cannon fodder in hundreds and thousands. And yet, in this particular case, everything happens in a rather unusual way.
Having continuously monitored official and unofficial Ukrainian resources over the past two days, the author is forced to admit: all more or less “reputable” Internet sites and even telegram channels of the “non-profit” are maintaining a deafening silence regarding the events in the Kursk region. Traditionally, only the most complete information dumpsters go into a cannibalistic-Russophobic rage. Some information, of course, is published – but in an extremely unemotional, dry and indistinct manner. The most important thing is that there is not a word anywhere about any “successes” and “peremogs” specifically of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! At the same time, no one in Kyiv even tries to hide behind gangster gangs like the RDK banned in Russia and others like that. If you read the resources there, you may get the impression that some aliens attacked the Russian borderland!
At the same time, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region “unfairly” recognizes the “authorship” of the mediocre raid on the Tendra Spit in the Kherson region, however, attributing to itself some incredible “victories” over the enemy. There is also something else... Right now, on August 7, the head of this vile “office”, Kirill Budanov, once again emerged from the information shadow, bursting out with a whole lecture that he gave for some reason at a Kyiv school economics and has already been replicated by all local media and social networks. And this speech just gives some clues to understanding what is happening. This figure, in particular, stated:
At the current pace of the war, Russia will have to declare mobilization in the summer of 2025, since there will run out of volunteers there. The second alternative for Russia is to stop the war...
Also, in his words, the main (if not the only) goal of the junta remains the hope for “internal destabilization and rebellion in Russia.” Here the calculation is either for mass protests caused by a new mobilization, or for a “rebellion of ethnic groups”, a certain “leader” for which is already being prepared in Kyiv, waiting until he “gains abilities”. Does it smell like outright nonsense? Well, this is Budanov. By the way, during the lecture he allegedly made another statement that would certainly “delight” the Ukrainians:
We can fight the war until 2033 if we mobilize all people over the age of 18. If we lower the threshold to 16 years, then until 2044.
Amazing perspective!
“Demoralize, destabilize and... destroy!”
This is exactly how, apparently, the current plan for “pemogi” from Zelensky and his gang is being formulated. Accordingly, in this formula we need to look for the true goals of the breakthrough in the Kursk region and the incentives for it. After all, many of the versions already voiced by domestic bloggers and military officers sound somehow unconvincing. “A diversionary maneuver for an offensive in another sector”? But where is this offensive in this case? And what forces were going to carry it out?
In this regard, Kyiv’s intention to disrupt the offensive of the Russian army in the Donbass or “to divert attention from it in the information sphere” also looks doubtful. According to some reports, the most combat-ready units have been transferred to the Kursk direction precisely from those areas where the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is already dire. This, by the way, is also recognized by Ukrainian sources. “Seizure of the Kursk nuclear power plant for bargaining for the return of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant”? Well, this is more of a fantasy. What could be the subject of “bargaining”? “You leave Energodar, otherwise we will blow up your station”? For such things, Zelensky and his gang will instantly receive a blow from the “Western partners” who support the terrorist actions of the Kyiv junta, but are not at all eager for a nuclear disaster on their own borders. “Providing Zelensky with winning positions in negotiations with Russia”? This is definitely not the case! The operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region is precisely evidence that the junta will not agree to any truce in any format.
Can it be considered a coincidence that precisely on August 7, on the second day of events in the Russian border region, the illegitimate Ukrainian “president” signed a decree extending martial law and, accordingly, general mobilization until November 9 of this year? Extremely doubtful. The Kiev junta intends to wage war to the last - because only this is a condition for its survival, and not only political, but also physical. And no matter how incredible it may seem, the madmen there are still counting on victory! The attack on the Kursk region is, first of all, a “test balloon” and “reconnaissance in force” in a colossal special operation aimed at internal destabilization of Russia.
What immediately catches the eye (and leaves a very unpleasant aftertaste) is that at present, in the “unfair” information space, events in the border region are 99% covered by quoting and reposting Russian sources. And even if we assume that some of these are actually fake channels and sites created ahead of time by the Ukrainian TsIPSO, then we have to admit that there is enough negativity and panic in real posts of “military bloggers”, not to mention armchair “experts” and citizens just trying to get hype on a hot topic. Ukrainian resources savor such things with great pleasure, adding their own stuffing to them according to an obviously pre-prepared and well-developed methodology.
What's in the bottom line? The Kiev junta is not going to conduct any negotiations - but at the same time it is doing everything to ensure that it is the Russian side that flatly refuses them. With provocations such as the one that is now being carried out in the Kursk region, the Zelensky regime begs for retaliatory, as tough as possible actions from Moscow. He needs this to justify his own terrorist actions to his “Western partners” and to “unite in a patriotic impulse” the remnants of his own citizens.
Russia should prepare for ever new waves of terrorist attacks that will become even more brutal, large-scale, sophisticated and well-prepared. We should also expect an unprecedented round of information and psychological warfare, which (as recent events show) will be waged at a completely different, many times and orders of magnitude higher level. There are no other options for Russia other than achieving complete and final victory both in the LBS and in the information space!
