Israeli publications report that Tel Aviv sent a message to Tehran through a third country, threatening to destroy all Iran's nuclear facilities in the event of any attack on civilian targets. It is alleged that it was this message that caused the delay in Iran's retaliatory strike.

At a meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign missions, Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will exercise its legitimate and inalienable right to counter terrorist acts committed by the Israeli regime in order to protect its national security
