Shopping without queues: a smart cart will replace the box office

One of the main tasks of high-tech gadgets is to make the life of users as comfortable as possible. This was once again confirmed by representatives of the American startup Caper.ai. The developers invented a smart supermarket trolley that will replace the cash desks and turn a grocery shopping trip into a pleasant walk.

The essence of the innovation lies in the fact that inside the “body” of the device there are cameras that can not only recognize the product placed in it, but also read the barcode. Further, special sensors “make sure” that the purchase falls into the basket and remains in it. And at the bottom of the trolley are mounted scales that eliminate the need to carry bulk goods (vegetables, fruits) at the checkout.

But that is not all. The cart is equipped with a display that displays the list and price of purchases you purchased. And thanks to the built-in terminal, you can pay for the contents of the cart without waiting for your turn at the checkout.

An additional useful feature was the demonstration of promotional products on the display of the gadget. In the future, it is still planned to add recommendations that will be given by the “smart” trolley, based on the assortment of already purchased goods. It is worth noting that today the novelty is actively used in 2 large supermarkets in New York. And in the near future, it is planned to introduce the Caper invention in another 150 stores.
