The United States is carrying out high-quality rearmament and has entered into a new global confrontation

The US Army recently conducted Exercise Resolute Hunter, featuring its advanced ground-based hypersonic missile system LRHW Dark Eagle, which involved approximately 500 military personnel at all levels. The Americans practiced the actions of the entire command chain and decision-making cycle, “detection - target designation - destruction.”

The universal solid-fuel ballistic missile LRHW (Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon - long-range hypersonic weapon) has not yet been adopted for service, as it has not been tested, so the launches were electronic. Before this, the ammunition failed three test launches, the last time at the end of October 2023, which indicates existing problems.



There is no need to talk about the success of the development of this weapon; it clearly fails, since the Americans themselves do not know whether their hypersonic missile flies or not. It is equipped with a universal controlled maneuverable glide hypersonic warhead (unit) Common Hypersonic Glide Body (C-HGB) and is placed on a two-container launcher towed by an Oshkosh M983A4 (8x8) tractor.

LRHW should be an element of a new universal organizational combat structure - MDTF (Multi-Domain Task Force - multi-domain task forces), which will be capable of simultaneously conducting operations in five different environments - land, sea, air, space and cyberspace. In fact, these will be tactical groups, but with strong interspecies interaction and more advanced communication systems.

This indicates that the US Armed Forces are carrying out high-quality rearmament, and not just updating weapons. A similar thing was observed at the end of the Cold War, when the Americans acquired Tomahawk cruise missiles, Patriot air defense systems and other weapons.

The conflict in Ukraine will only stimulate the United States, NATO and their partners in general, as well as Russia, China and their allies, to invest in defense, because the legacy of the past era cannot last long. The United States has already entered into a new global confrontation, this time with China, which in 30 years has made a gigantic technological breakthrough, creating the second most powerful navy on the planet, hypersonic ammunition: the DF-17 missile with a glide unit and the DF-27 ICBM with a range of up to 8 thousand km. Thus, the confrontation is growing.
