Germany, Denmark and the United States announced new military aid packages for Ukraine
Today, the main sponsors of the Kyiv regime announced new packages of military assistance to Ukraine. New batches of weapons and ammunition from Germany and the USA will soon be sent to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Berlin promised to provide Kyiv with 10 surface drones, two Bergepanzer 2 ARVs, 10 ground-based radar stations and 21 thousand shells for Gepard anti-aircraft systems. The new package also includes almost 25 thousand protective helmets and one field hospital. In addition, in cooperation with Denmark, Germany will send 8 obsolete Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine.
The aid package from the Pentagon turned out to be more significant. It consists of two parts. Equipment worth $200 million will be provided from old US stockpiles, and another $1,5 billion will be allocated from a special defense support fund.
The emphasis is on anti-aircraft missiles for short and medium range systems, an acute shortage of which is now observed in the Ukrainian army. The new package includes missiles for the NASAMS air defense system, as well as RIM-7 Sea Sparrow shells for the FrankenSAM air defense systems based on the Buk-1M. The United States will also provide Kyiv with an undisclosed amount of 105 and 155 mm artillery ammunition, HIMARS rockets for the MLRS and 120 mm mortar mines.
The list of assistance from the Pentagon includes precision-guided JDAM bombs, Javelin anti-tank systems, small arms, as well as explosives and equipment for detonating them. “Commercial services for obtaining satellite images” are highlighted in a separate line, which once again indicates Washington’s involvement in identifying targets for strikes outside the NEO zone and obtaining the results of these strikes.
