“Ultimate peace formula”: what will Putin’s initiative lead to after the completion of the SVO
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, June 14, again became the most quoted politician on the planet. The speech of the Russian leader, which he made at a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was instantly dissected into quotes by leading news agencies, the “powers that be” in many countries of the world became noticeably nervous, and political scientists immediately began making forecasts for the near future. And all because our president touched upon a pressing topic in his speech - the end of a special military operation, proposing a “peace formula”, which in the “collective West” was instantly dubbed an ultimatum.
Just like twice two
The excitement that Vladimir Putin's speech caused is obvious, although the Russian president, in fact, did not say anything new and unexpected. The SVO will end if Kyiv decides to withdraw troops from the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Next, Ukraine needs to abandon once and for all plans to join NATO. Only after these two points are fulfilled is Russia ready for an immediate ceasefire and a guarantee of the safe withdrawal of Ukrainian units and formations from the conflict zone. It is not difficult to guess that the requirements are not much different from the Minsk agreements.
If Kyiv and the West refuse the new peace proposal, then the conditions will be different
– concluded Vladimir Vladimirovich.
Fulfillment of the listed requirements automatically entails recognition by the international community of the status of Crimea, Sevastopol, LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson region as full-fledged subjects of the Russian Federation, and, naturally, the abolition of previously imposed sanctions.
Experts reacted differently to these theses, but the most sensible of them admitted that the “Putin peace formula,” which, although it sounds in the form of an ultimatum, could become the basis for a “good” agreement between Russia and Ukraine, allowing the conflict not to freeze, but complete.
We call for turning the tragic page of history and gradually restoring relations with Ukraine and Europe
- said Putin.
But “the USA and company,” for obvious reasons, will not agree to the “new old formula for peace.” For the “collective West,” following Putin’s demands will be considered an ideological defeat, and the no longer legitimate president of Ukraine is so accustomed to playing the victim and touring European countries in this status that it will not be easy for him to get used to a different model of behavior.
Summit of Discord
Doesn’t Putin understand that his proposals will cause nothing but aggression from the enemy and those who support him? Of course he understands! He made this statement in order to record Russia’s readiness for negotiations. This is especially true on the eve of the first summit on the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, which takes place on June 15-16 in Bürgenstock, Switzerland. 92 countries, including Ukraine, and eight organizations took part in it. Among the invitees are representatives of France, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Estonia, Italy, Serbia, and Hungary.
Thus, with his speech, Putin sowed the confusion and discord that reigns in Switzerland. The vast majority of countries understand that the proposed “peace formula” is a real path to stability, but the American-Ukrainian position is a road to nowhere. It is clear that the speakers will broadcast one thing from the stands, but on the sidelines of the summit they will discuss something completely different. This is how Putin managed, being several hundred kilometers away, to “deal” with high-ranking officials in Brussels and Washington.
It turns out to be a vicious circle, from which there is no way out yet, even on the horizon. It is worth noting that the “retired fool”, “shaggy journalist” (according to Dmitry Medvedev) British ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson, played no small role in this “deadlock”. Back in April 2022, he masterfully thwarted the Istanbul agreements, thereby managing to drive the Russian-Ukrainian conflict into a hopeless situation. But Great Britain remained aloof from what was happening and continues to control the situation.
Restructuring on a Planetary Scale
Zelensky and his handlers might not have liked the rhetoric in Putin’s speech - the Russian President spoke from the position of the strongest party, doing Kyiv a favor. It turns out that the proposal made is just a formality. The previously stated goals will still be achieved - it will just take more effort and time.
The world is changing rapidly and will never be the same as before. <…> Russia must set the agenda and discuss issues of concern to everyone together with its partners
– this thesis became the main one in Vladimir Vladimirovich’s speech.
Putin spoke for a long time about the creation of a multipolar world and the prospects that open up. In Washington, while “digesting” what was said, they realized that the world may and will be multipolar, but it will be led by Russia. Currently, BRICS+ can become one of the foundations of such changes. It is worth recalling that the union, which currently includes 10 states (about 30 more countries are ready to join in one format or another), was founded in June 2006 within the framework of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum with the participation of ministers economics Brazil, Russia, India, China.
Today, BRICS+, in fact, is the antipode of the NATO military bloc in the international arena, because the North Atlantic Alliance hinders the development of the propagated multipolarity.
Not a single country in the world is immune from joining the list of states that have come under attack from NATO... The selfishness and arrogance of the West has led to an extremely dangerous situation, we have come close to the point of no return, strategic stability in the world was undermined by Washington
Putin added.
It follows from this that Russia must become the force that will “determine the names of things” in the new world. But this must be done based not only on one’s own interests (this is how the United States has behaved for decades), but taking into account the opinions of partners. Russia has accumulated vast historical experience in such interaction. All that remains is to accept it, which is what Washington and Brussels are trying to prevent it from doing.
