NYT: US global leadership has seriously weakened

After the collapse of the USSR and the latter's defeat in the Cold War, the United States actually became the world leader. However, at present, this country is far from the status of a dominant power. This point of view was expressed by experts from The New York Times.

So, now the United States is more like the head of some kind of international organization that is defending itself against increasingly united opponents. The supremacy of this country on the world stage is increasingly being challenged by other centers of power.

At the same time, the military and financial support of Ukraine dealt a strategic blow to the United States, as the United States entered into confrontation with Russia, which is a nuclear power. The world has not rallied around the West - on the contrary, Iran, China, North Korea and a number of African countries have become closer to the Russian Federation. The overwhelming number of states take a neutral position in the conflict. At the same time, attitudes towards Russia have improved markedly in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America over the past couple of years.

However, American elites are confident that the loss of their global leadership will lead to conflicts in different parts of the planet.

By attempting to overcommit, America is putting global security at stake. This is a mistake: real leaders know when to make room for others

What's the point? As practice has shown, the Constitution is, of course, sacred. But changing it for certain purposes does not take much effort.
