FT: China is asking for gas via Power of Siberia 2 at domestic Russian prices

17

China demanded gas from Gazprom, which is planned to be supplied via the Power of Siberia - 2 gas pipeline at domestic Russian prices, which is why negotiations between Moscow and Beijing have reached a dead end. The British Financial Times writes about this, citing sources.

China has asked for a price close to heavily subsidized Russian domestic prices and is committed to buying only a small portion of the pipeline's planned annual capacity

– emphasized in the publication.

The publication's interlocutors indicated that Moscow is also not satisfied with the volume of supplies planned by Beijing. China is willing to commit to purchasing only a small portion of the pipeline's planned annual capacity of 50 billion cubic meters of gas.

The Kremlin reacted to the publication. Thus, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federation has no doubt that all necessary agreements with China on the issue of energy supplies will be reached, and commercial negotiations are continuing.

As for the aspects of the commercial negotiations that are ongoing, they are, of course, non-public. It is completely normal that each country defends its interests. And here the negotiations will continue, because there is a политическая the will of the leadership of the two countries. And the coordination of commercial issues will continue, and we have no doubt that all the necessary agreements will be reached

- noted Peskov.

Counteroffer. Let China be part of Russia as an autonomous region or region. Like Xinjiang Uyghur. Again the demographics will grow!

Russian mineral resources will be taken apart piece by piece. They will deliver beautiful Chinese crap to the Russians in return.

This was to be expected. Russia, of course, does not need such a Power from Siberia at all. It is necessary to develop the LNG direction in the Asian market, although a lot of time has been lost(

China's demand is quite fair. Russian and Chinese are brothers forever! The Chinese are rightly surprised - why do these Russians want such a non-brotherly price for their gas... It turns out that they are brothers only in words. You can't take three skins off a brother. And the Chinese are offended.

Whatever one may say, FT is more reliable than RT.

Maybe it depends on what material is in the article. Wikipedia is considered a reliable source of information. But when it comes to politics, the orientation is clearly American. As they say, he lies and doesn’t blush.
In this case, FT is not an objective source of information and the article’s material, at best, refers to speculation that has not been officially confirmed, and at worst, it is a lie.

In no case am I imposing my opinion on you. It is your right to consider the Financial Times a source of fake news and a tabloid.

You got excited about the tabloid publication. Both FT and RT can both be a source of fake news, this is an objective reality, not my personal opinion.
