U.S. Security for Women is next to Somalia and Congo
Reuters has compiled a ranking of the countries most dangerous for women for the past year 2018. It is characteristic that the top ten included a state that considers itself the most civilized, democratic and imposes its “democracy" on everyone else - the United States of America.
The drafters of the rating drew attention to such aspects as discrimination against women, violence against them (both sexual and non-sexual in nature), access to health services, exploitation and slavery.
The first place in this list went to India, the second to Afghanistan. Syria was put in third place (which before the war unleashed with the participation of the United States was considered one of the safest countries in the world).
Then come the following states: Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Yemen, Nigeria and, finally, the United States. We are talking about those countries where the totality of all the above factors is taken into account.
If you look at certain aspects, a rather gloomy picture also emerges. So, among the countries where women are most often victims of sexual violence, in the first place - India, in the second - Congo, but the third place was shared by Syria, suffering from a long war, and the "prosperous" States.
If we talk about violence of a different nature (domestic, psychological, cruelty during the conflict, etc.), then the United States is in sixth place. The leaders in this position are Afghanistan, Syria and India.
Women from Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and India suffer the most from labor discrimination, the inability to earn a living and even food, to obtain property and inheritance rights. It should be noted that in this case, Saudi Arabia, where it is really difficult to talk about any kind of democracy (especially for women), is one of the closest allies of the United States.
Three countries - India, Libya, and Myanmar - are leading women slavery (forced labor, the slave trade, sexual slavery, forced marriage). In Libya, this situation also developed after the intervention of the United States and NATO in 2011. The compilers of the ranking put the fourth place in two countries - Nigeria and Russia (although in the latter case we can speak, rather, not about slavery, but about social problems).
There are also states where violence against women (stoning, killing girls, female circumcision, acid reprisals, etc.) is part of the cultural tradition. These are India, Afghanistan and Somalia.
According to this rating, medical assistance is most difficult for citizens of Afghanistan, Syria and Somalia.
