Railroads to Crimea require additional billions

0
The cost of building railway approaches to the Crimean bridge has increased. The Russian government has ordered an additional three billion rubles to be allocated for this purpose.

Recall that there is no direct railway connection with Crimea. Its creation is one of the most important goals of the government towards improving the transport infrastructure of the peninsula.

Two years ago, in January 2017, the government approved a contract for 16 billion rubles. This amount included the development of project documentation and the laying of railways to the Crimean bridge. Now the contract value has been increased by 2,9 billion rubles.

When the railway connection with the Crimea is established, the influx of tourists to the peninsula and the supply of goods will increase significantly. This, in turn, will lead to lower prices for consumer goods in Crimean settlements, and will contribute to the further development of resort infrastructure.

Naturally, in Ukraine, the construction of the railway in the Crimea is very negative: nationalists threaten with sabotage, policy protests and even astrologers are threatening that the Crimean bridge should fail. For example, a Ukrainian astrologer even stated that the bridge would last no more than seven to nine years.

Meanwhile, the Crimean bridge can indeed be called one of the largest structures in the history of post-Soviet Russia. It is the longest in the country, its length is more than 19 km.
