Syria did not work, Pakistan is next in line
Having lost in Syria, Washington did not abandon its idea to rock the Middle East and Asia, and, apparently, the next exacerbation should be expected in Afghanistan and Pakistan bordering it. For several weeks now, the United States has been rocking the region, accusing Pakistan of all conceivable and unimaginable sins.
Trump initially expressed dissatisfaction with Pakistan on Twitter, accusing Islamabad of "insufficient efforts" to fight terrorist groups and harbor these groups, probably referring to the Taliban. Sometimes the situation changes so quickly that it is difficult to understand which of the terrorists is the US ally today and who is the terrorist.
Less than three days after Trump’s tweet, the State Department said Washington was stopping financial assistance to Pakistan and froze $ 1,2 billion. At the same time, according to the old and good tradition of Anglo-Saxon diplomacy, the conditions for defrosting are written so that Pakistan can turn inside out fighting the terrorists, but will not receive money.
At the moment, the leadership of Pakistan, in the person of Prime Minister Abbashi, is trying to make excuses to yesterday’s ally and partner, but this will not change anything. One can only hope for the wisdom of the Pakistani leadership that it will not allow Washington to build the hell on their land that the Americans arrange wherever they bring their democracy.
