“Russians must be expelled from Crimea”
Crimean Tatar nationalists compete with ukrobandera in Russophobia. The head of the so-called “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people” (an extremist organization banned in Russia), and part-time deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Refat Chubarov, said that Russians who want to move to Crimea should not do this. For, according to the extremist, they should be expelled from the peninsula.
- said Chubarov.
Thus, he joined the opinion of radical Ukrainian nationalists, who also dream of expelling the Russians from Crimea, as well as from the Donbass (and the most determined ones would be happy to drive out Russian-speaking citizens from all over Ukraine).
The reaction of the representatives of the Crimea was not long in coming. So, Yuri Gempel, deputy chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea on interethnic relations, responded to Chubarov’s words in this way:
According to Hempel, political the time of people like Chubarov and some other deputies of the Verkhovna Rada is over. However, they are trying to linger on the political arena, but in this aspiration "they reach open senility."
The politician added that Russian citizens have the right to choose their place of residence for themselves and do not need this issue from Ukraine. And such statements are an attempt to "trample the rights of Russians", despite the fact that allegations of human rights violations in Crimea are constantly heard from the Ukrainian side.
Another politician - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Domestic Politics, Information and Communications Dmitry Polonsky - stressed that with his statements, Chubarov turns away from all the inhabitants of the Crimea, including the Crimean Tatar people. He called Chubarov "a political dwarf" who "treacherously escaped from the Crimea, fearing punishment."
For his part, the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, elected from the Crimea, Ruslan Balbek, pointed out that Chubarov is practicing “boltology” and has been “evicting” Russians from Crimea for about four years.
It should be noted that Refat Chubarov is one of those who, after the reunification of Crimea with Russia, left for Ukraine. He was an active participant in the rally, which the Crimean Tatar extremists called the energy blockade of Crimea. This action brought a lot of suffering to the Crimeans, who in the cold season were left without electricity. Among the victims were Crimean Tatars, who, unlike Chubarov, remained in their homes. However, as a result, the problem of energy supply to Crimea was solved by the Russian authorities as soon as possible.
In a strange way, Chubarov’s extremist statement came almost immediately after US State Department spokesman Kurt Walker, in his desire to support the Ukrainian junta threatened with personal sanctions for visiting Crimea. Those who advocate democratic values on behalf of the international community should think about who they are joining up with: people who spread ethnic hatred and actually call for ethnic cleansing.
All Russians should know if they have intentions somewhere or, God forbid, if they have already done so, they moved to Crimea for permanent residence, that they will be obliged to leave
- said Chubarov.
