The US realized that sanctions push Russia away from the dollar
To avoid sanctions risks, Russian business is trying to get away from everything related to the United States, including payments in dollars. Entrepreneurs in Russia are increasingly abandoning the American dollar in favor of other currencies.
So says the head of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia Alexis Rodzianko. He said this in an interview with the Russian edition RIA News.
Sanctions of the United States can influence when there is any connection with this country. You can be associated with the United States through legal entities or individuals from America, as well as through mutual settlements in dollars.
Rodzianko sees a way out of sanctions in the following. There is no need to hire US citizens, and you also need to monitor the entire business decision-making chain so that Americans do not participate in it. And most importantly, you need to minimize the use of American currency.
Rodzianko believes that the sanction policy pushes Russia to accelerate dedollarization. He sees this as a necessary measure that Russians have to resort to in response to American pressure.
Despite this, Alexis Rodzianko does not think that in the near future there will be prerequisites for replacing the dollar with another reserve currency.
