Russian gas will go to Europe regardless of the Ukrainian factor

As the construction of the Turkish Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines progresses, it becomes obvious that the importance of Ukraine as a transit country is minimized.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that long-term contracts for gas supplies to Europe will be fully implemented regardless of how Ukraine behaves in 2019.

The head of the energy department assured that Russia guarantees European consumers an uninterrupted supply of gas in the appropriate amount under any circumstances.

Under “any circumstances,” the minister first of all had an undefined position in Kiev, which on the one hand loves the free money that it receives for transit, on the other hand, declares “Russian aggression” and is engaged in scumbagging on far-fetched occasions.

According to Novak, it is precisely the desire of the Ukrainian authorities to get even more money through legal proceedings that impedes the dialogue between the parties.

The Minister added:

Gazprom is ready as one of the options to consider signing a settlement agreement that would satisfy both parties

It is important for Russia in this matter to understand the amount of transit gas that can pass through Ukraine after 2019 if the parties reach a consensus.
