Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov during a conversation with Russian journalists said that the resignation of James Mattis is a direct consequence of the decision of the US president to withdraw troops from Syria.
Speaking about the consequences of the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, the Russian diplomat said:
The divergence of views between Mattis and Trump has long been no secret to either the US administration or the media, and the question of the resignation of the Secretary of Defense was only a matter of time.
