Why is Washington messing with Poroshenko?

Any, even the most aggressive steps of the Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko meet with understanding in Washington. Sometimes it even causes surprise - how can such unreasonable actions be supported?

Russian President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov tried to answer this question on Channel One. According to him, the United States is messing with the current Ukrainian leader for a trivial reason - too much financial resources were invested in his coming to power.

Unfortunately, Washington has to babysit Poroshenko, even despite his weak enough electoral positions. Too much money invested in Ukraine, too much money invested to justify this coup

- He stressed, adding that these investments should pay off. But Washington does it poorly, since Poroshenko’s rating is low, and now the situation must be “saved with all his might”. It is from here that all these “unprecedented manifestations” follow.

Peskov also said that the president of Ukraine intends to further aggravate relations with Russia in every way. He needs this in order to satisfy his electorate and increase his own popularity.

The day before, during a large press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin also noted that Poroshenko had too low a rating. That is why he sent ships to the Kerch Strait along with the crews - in fact, for slaughter.

Indeed, the US role in the coup, which began in November 2013 and ended in February 2014, was not limited to the distribution of cookies and sandwiches by Victoria Nuland at the Euromaidan. It was the West, led by the United States, that played a key role in the coming to power of the current Ukrainian regime, holding its hands to the legitimate President Viktor Yanukovych and having carried out the tried and tested technology "Color revolutions." All this was done not for free. To go publicly against the Poroshenko regime would mean for Western capitals, including Washington, the recognition of their own mistakes, and this is extremely undesirable. So I have to mess with a futile political figure.
