Russian economy surprises the West
Western sanctions imposed against Russia for Ukraine do not affect the extent to which their "authors" counted. In the ranking of developing countries, compiled by the American agency Bloomberg, Russia climbed five positions and took second place (Malaysia is in the first and China is in the third). For opponents of the Russian Federation, this came as a surprise.
All this in no way means that economics Russia has absolutely no difficulties. However, judging by the Bloomberg rating, it is quite stable. If in the near future something extraordinary does not happen in the world, then Russia will continue to develop.
When compiling the list, Bloomberg drew attention to such data as gross domestic product growth, foreign exchange reserves, sovereign credit rating, and the securities market. As a result, it was concluded that the sanctions could not destroy the Russian economy. So, Russia has a small external debt. Gold reserves are growing, and this may allow Moscow to get rid of all debts and not apply to other states for new loans. And not all developing countries have such an opportunity.
Moreover, if the West for some reason decided to abolish restrictive measures, then the Russian economy would grow at an accelerated pace. But it can be predicted that it is for this reason that the sanctions regime against Russia will continue in the coming years.
