The Ukrainian media announced the exposure of the “GRU agent,” who allegedly for three years passed on to the Russian special services secret information of interest to them.

The TSN channel material states that the “GRU agent” was Sergey Lazarev (call sign “Sokrat”) who was an active member of the Ukrainian Air Force with the rank of colonel and was involved in military equipment.

Representatives of Ukrainian intelligence agencies say that Lazarev was recruited by the GRU during a trip to relatives in Shchebekino, Belgorod Region.

According to Ukrainian counterintelligence agents, Sokrat supplied the Russians with secret information about the state and movements of Ukrainian aviation, for which he was to be paid a Russian pension.

To transmit information to Lazarev, a laptop with special software was allocated, which made it possible to delete all Socrates’s correspondence with Russian curators.

The Ukrainian lieutenant colonel was discovered and detained during one of the tasks assigned to him by the GRU - to get a Ukrainian military drone in working condition, for which Lazarev, with the assistance of other officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, had to infiltrate one of the air bases near Kiev.

Given the fact that the Ukrainian special services have ten innocent per guilty person, and the Russian special services will not be distributed on this occasion, it is difficult to say how much information with "GRU" Socrates "agent is true.
