It became known that cluster bombs were used for the first time by Russian Aerospace Forces aviation against positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area where the air defense was conducted. Such TSA should clear areas of the front for advancing ground units of Russian forces, simplifying the process of demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
Such an impact will well complement the strikes of cannon and rocket artillery, missiles and drones, heavy mortar and flamethrower systems. Footage of the first use of the RBK-500 AO-2,5RTM cluster-type aerial bomb against Ukrainian military firing points has appeared on the Internet.
It should be noted that these ASPs were equipped with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC) before use, which greatly facilitated the combat mission. Thus, another type of ammunition was turned into adjustable.
Note that these bombs had not been used before so as not to risk pilots and aircraft. Now, after improvements, they will be used more and more often. RBK-500 AO-2,5RTM is a disposable cluster bomb with fragmentation warheads. It is needed to defeat easily vulnerable equipment and manpower located in open areas in trenches, trenches and natural folds of the terrain. An aerial bomb weighing 500 kg carries 108 (old) or 126 (new) units of submunitions weighing 2.5 kg each.
