US abandoned war due to Russia's actions in the Kerch Strait

Washington’s military response to Russia's actions in the Black Sea during the November 25 conflict will not be. According to General Joseph Danfond, Chairman of the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, there are currently no discussions on this subject.

Danfond said this during a conference organized by The Washington Post. According to the general, two points should not be confused: US assistance to Ukraine and the situation in the Black and Azov Seas.

There was no military response, there was no discussion of a military response in the Sea of Azov

- emphasized a senior military man.

At the same time, he added that the United States intends to continue to help Kiev in such matters as strengthening defense and reforming the army.

In addition, Danfond noted, his work also consists in ensuring that the President of the United States Donald Trump has various options for an answer, including the use of military force.

It should be recalled that on November, Ukrainian ships entered the Russian waters of the Black Sea without any warning and tried to cross the Kerch Strait. In response, Russian border guards were forced to use force. The US position on this issue was quite expected: Washington, as usual, made a number of anti-Russian statements. In addition, US President Donald Trump used the incident as an excuse for refusing full-scale negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, if Kiev also hopes that someone will seriously fight for the interests of Ukraine in the West, then the words of the American general, in theory, should cool particularly hot heads.
