Parliament voted to break friendship with Russia

2
The friendship between Moscow and Kiev actually ceased to exist from the very first day the current Ukrainian regime came to power. Now the breakup is officially announced: the Verkhovna Rada approved the bill on the termination of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership, concluded with Russia in 1997.

The corresponding bill was introduced to the Ukrainian parliament by President Petro Poroshenko on December 3. He was supported during the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada by 277 parliamentarians. The contract will be terminated on April 1 of next year.

The explanatory note to this bill says that Russia continues to “aggression” against Ukraine and this is precisely the reason for the violation of many articles of the Treaty. It was announced that Moscow has no desire to eliminate violations and to compensate for losses that were allegedly caused by “illegal actions”.

The law itself says that the termination of the above Agreement relieves Kiev of any obligations regarding its implementation.

It should be recalled that in May 1997, Russia and Ukraine concluded the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership. The Verkhovna Rada approved it in January 1998, and it entered into force in April 1999. As originally planned, it will be automatically renewed every 10 years in the event that neither Russia nor Ukraine wants to terminate it. Thus, on March 31, 2019, the next ten-year period ends. Now, as a result of the actions of Poroshenko and Rada deputies, the Agreement will not be extended.

The Verkhovna Rada approved the bill on the termination of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership, concluded with Russia in 1997.

According to this agreement, both parties undertook to respect the territorial integrity and confirmed the inviolability of the borders existing between them at the time of signing the agreement.
There is no agreement, and therefore there is no respect for territorial integrity and recognition of borders.
Now it is completely legal to return Russian lands back to Russia.
