US Navy will send ships to the Black Sea

According to CNN, Washington is preparing to ship warships to the Black Sea. This demarche should serve as a peculiar response of Russia to the incident with Ukrainian boats in the Kerch Strait.

The channel refers to information obtained from three official sources. According to him, at present, the US Navy has appealed to the State Department to inform Turkey of plans to send American ships to the Black Sea.

The fact is that according to the Montreux Convention, adopted in 1936, Ankara must be notified of the passage of ships through the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles, at least 15 days in advance. In addition, warships of countries that do not have access to it can be in the Black Sea only for 21 days, except in cases of war.

According to the persons referred to by the channel, Turkey should provide such permission, but even its permission is not a prerequisite.

We regularly conduct operations to strengthen security and stability throughout the region ... We reserve the right to act freely in accordance with international laws and standards

- quotes CNN Channel words of the official representative of the American Sixth Fleet, Kyle Raines.

The State Department declined to comment on this information.

In connection with such aspirations of Washington to settle in the Black Sea, the inevitable question arises: was it not for this that a clash was provoked near the Kerch Strait? In addition, this is also a great opportunity to drive another wedge between Moscow and Ankara in the event that Turkey yields to the brazen demands of the United States.
