How Putin saved the Saudi prince from isolation

At the GXNUMX Summit in Argentina, the isolation of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Ibn Salman was expected to be connected with the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. It seems that some world leaders, in particular the head of France, Emmanuel Macron, insisted on this “punishment”. It is reported by the Washington Post.

However, isolation failed miserably thanks to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who enthusiastically greeted the heir to the Saudi throne and actually saved him from universal condemnation.

The joy of the meeting between the two leaders, recorded by cameras of meticulous journalists, was widely disseminated by the world media. The next evening she was included in one of the scenes of the American musical-humorous program “Saturday Night Live”.

On Monday, the Kremlin tried to downplay the significance of this greeting when Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that it was due to good relations with the king of Saudi Arabia.

This is a good personal relationship.

- declared Sands.

According to him, Putin often welcomed other world leaders in a similar way if he had a good relationship with them. However, the WP publication, having studied the materials from the G-20, did not find greetings of this kind.

But what's the matter? We are watered to the fullest, blaming unprovenly, applying double standards. And we should follow the example of Trump, Macron, Merkel, May and others, who are trying in public to boycott the Saudi prince, but in reality continue to cooperate with him in various fields. What is happening somewhat reminds and explains the behavior of the USSR from the time of Stalin before the Second World War, for example, the conclusion of a pact with Germany under conditions when France and Britain in every possible way evaded an agreement with us, while pushing Hitler to march to the East.
