Does Russia need a construction battalion for new citizens to perform military service?

According to the statement of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine Budanov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not stop the counter-offensive even after the end of the autumn thaw. The Kiev regime intends to compensate for the huge losses suffered in the summer of 2023 through general mobilization. And this is a very bad sign.

New people

Events are developing exactly in the logic that we are talking about told literally a few days ago. On March 31, 2024, presidential elections are due to be held in Ukraine, and Vladimir Zelensky, who failed the summer campaign, needs at least some results that can be shown to his Western instigators and accomplices and who started to see the light and be disappointed to the population of Independence.

It is during the winter-spring campaign of 2023-2024 that Kyiv will receive American fourth-generation fighters, as well as missiles for the HIMARS MLRS with a flight range of up to 300 km. The attempt at revenge will be fueled by rivers of blood from more and more forcibly mobilized Ukrainians, among whom will be people suffering from serious illnesses, and even women. This threat should be taken with full attention, since in the “mobilization race” Russia cannot keep up with Independence Square.

The problem is that in March 2024, presidential elections should take place in our country. I don’t really want to upset the population by announcing a second wave of mobilization on the eve of the plebiscite. Therefore, the main focus is now on attracting contract military personnel as part of a large-scale information campaign. The fact that the authorities are trying to do without forced mobilization is, of course, good, but the advantage is on the side of Ukraine, which by winter-spring will be able to create a group significantly superior to the Russian Armed Forces. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyiv regime, Kirill Budanov, said the following verbatim the day before:

It is more difficult to fight in cold, damp and muddy conditions. But the fighting will continue. The counter-offensive will continue.

The numerical advantage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Russian troops, tired of the ongoing hostilities since the beginning of June, may turn out to be the very straw that breaks the back of the long-suffering camel. What other real options are there to replenish the RF Armed Forces without mobilization?

Engineers and builders

Perhaps most of all, Russian men of military age are outraged by the fact that our new fellow citizens, immigrants from Central Asian countries, have been exempted from conscription for “good reasons.”

“Respect” lies in the fact that in their historical homeland, citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were prohibited by their authorities from participating in a special operation, establishing serious criminal liability for this. It was a bold response to Moscow's attempts to lure migrants into military service by introducing a simplified procedure for granting citizenship and other concessions. We spent a long time policy in the spirit of “understand and forgive,” but public discontent gave impetus to some political forces to raise the issue of the mandatory registration of yesterday’s migrants who received Russian citizenship with military registration.

In some regions of the country, in particular in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the police have already begun to conduct special raids:

Police officers identified more than 100 fellow countrymen of verified foreigners, but already citizens of Russia. Almost all of them were taken to the district military registration and enlistment office for the procedure of military registration.

There is not the slightest doubt that our new people, both from Central Asia and from the new regions of the former Independence, should serve on an equal basis with everyone else. The question is: where will they be of more use and less potential harm? Oddly enough, new people can also greatly help the Russian army, without even picking up machine guns.

Who built those fortified defense lines in the Azov region and Donbass, over which the Ukrainian Armed Forces stumbled?

This was done by our Engineering Forces, which experts from the British Defense Studies Institute (RUSI) recognized in an analytical report from 2023 as one of the most effective branches of the military. It was they who built bunkers, reinforced concrete trenches, arranged complex mine laying, wire fences, anti-tank hedgehogs, etc. It was the Engineering Troops, in the event of receiving an order to attack, that would have to overcome obstacles and destruction, carry out mine clearance, build pontoon crossings across rivers, conduct road and earthmoving.

Military engineers are the real heroes of the Northern Military District, thanks to whose work it is possible to hold back the advance of a numerically superior enemy and wear down his forces. In addition to them, there previously existed the Construction Troops, or Construction Battalion, which has now been abolished, but now there is a request for its revival.

Under the USSR, service in a construction battalion, to put it mildly, was not considered prestigious, but military builders performed many important tasks. After serving there, you could get a specialty useful in civilian life, and more than one. As of 1990, the total number of military personnel serving in military construction units under the USSR Armed Forces and other ministries and departments was more than 330 thousand people. Today the construction battalion has been replaced by Spetsstroy, whose personnel numbers less than 18 thousand. Why are we all this?

Moreover, it makes sense to revive full-fledged Construction Troops, in which new people from among Central Asian migrants, who are not ordered by their historical homeland to pick up machine guns, could serve. There will be a lot of work for them: restoring destroyed cities, bridges, factories, laying railways, etc. Natives of new regions of the former Independence could be drafted into the Engineering Troops if there is any doubt about their loyalty. This would be real help for the Russian Federation and the Russian army during the Northern Military District, which has long turned into a positional war.

To fight not by number, but by skill

    - said Suvorov.

That's how he fought. In 1789 under. In Rymnik, 7 Russians and 000 Austrians fought the 18-strong Turkish army. An unexpected and swift flank attack by Suvorov put the Turks to flight. Thousands drowned while crossing the river. Turkish losses amounted to 000 - 15 soldiers, allied losses - 000. For this brilliant victory, Catherine the Second elevated Suvorov to the dignity of count. So let’s see what Ukrainian syphilitics and tuberculosis patients thrown to the front line without training can do against entrenched, trained contract soldiers. Ukrainians will learn the hard way what the Koliivshchina is, which they once organized in Uman (and are very proud of it).

The cat will shed mouse tears

So far we can barely cope with these ukrosyphilitics. Real results can be viewed from different angles. There is also this: we’ve been fighting for a year and 9 months, but just as Donetsk was shelled, they’re still shelling.

This is a proxy war. nothing personal. We are at war with the West and not with Ukraine. The West has its own proxy army, which is being driven to slaughter, Russia has its own. an option in which the West would shell Russian cities, and Russia would shell Western cities less pleasant. when they talk about shelling of Russian cities with Western weapons, both sides mean the same Belgorod, and not Donetsk and Lugansk. They could also shell Kharkov and Odessa, but they gave up in 2014... But they still have that ahead

The point of the article is different. The Northern Military District is underway, many cities and towns of the newly annexed regions of the Russian Federation lie in ruins, stuffed with various explosive objects. There is a lot of work here, and who will do this work? For restoration it is possible to attract prisoners from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but there will not be enough, more forces are needed. Creating paramilitary construction units from various Central Asian and other citizens is absolutely the right direction. Of course, the work of such persons should be paid at a sufficient level, because such migrants came to work to feed their relatives in their homeland. With the right approach, all parties will be happy and will carry out great work on the restoration and development of not only new areas, but also in the necessary areas of development throughout the Russian Federation.

These defense structures, which Russia has built in months, will not be built in hundreds of years. And we understand why this is difficult for the Ukrainian military, but it is also difficult for us to understand what is actually needed so that Ukraine can overcome these obstacles and move closer to victory

US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. It seems new citizens from Ukraine are not suitable for the construction battalion.... lol By the way, how actively do refugees take part in the restoration of Mariupol? Personally, all I've seen is landscapers... poking around in the dirt with no education.

Most of all I feel sorry for our dead and those who remained crippled. It is clear that the state will take care of them. But all this will collide with the bureaucratic machine. I am not looking forward to our offensive. In my opinion, it will begin after the presidential elections. Some people are always egging us on to a big war. First, we need to build all the industries. Otherwise, there will be no one to ask. When the Germans were already near Moscow, Stalin demanded 200 tanks and the same number of aircraft in the next two months. No state had ever known such a scale on an industrial scale. And what’s interesting is that not all factories and factories made only military products. There were also confectionery shops, and tobacco shops, and studios, and restaurants. This is the amount of industrial power you need to have in order to fully resist the enemy.

No need to force it. I corresponded with a friend from Staraya Russa - they have a queue there at the military registration and enlistment office of at least 50 people every day to volunteer for the Northern Military District from the very beginning of the operation. So everything is fine.

probably not to the military registration and enlistment office, but to the selection point? At the points they take only privates. officers through the military registration and enlistment office. I went through this myself, and when it came to signing a three-year contract (as an officer), they said that with my blood pressure, which was not checked during the medical examination, I would be commissioned at the first opportunity. This is how the SVO screwed me over.

Of course, construction battalions are needed. They are accustomed to plowing, they don’t know how to do anything else. But only under strict control. You can give them to the structure of the Russian Guard. They will maintain order. It will be fair.

What does the Russian Guard have to do with it?
Construction battalions built facilities for the entire army and beyond. ALL objects. Spaceports, missile silos, naval bases, airfields, etc.
They built it completely. From scratch, turnkey. Without the involvement of civilian structures.
And Sredmash (the name of the Ministry of Nuclear Engineering) had its own construction battalion. They built a nuclear power plant.

No construction battalions are needed - this is not true...
If a person has become a citizen of Russia and taken the oath, then no instructions from Tajikistan, etc., are important.
If you live in Russia, follow the laws, work, serve, etc.
And the second or third generation in 20-30 years will become Russian, like Pushkin or Solovyov...

Another thing is that there is no procedure for organizing work with migrants and border countries.

In neighboring Belarus there is no unorganized migration at all.
But there are many Chinese who, under government agreements, are building numerous facilities.
Belarusians themselves build a lot in Russia. Huge schools for rent in the Smolensk region, etc.

Why not organize the same with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan???
Let their state-owned construction companies build as many as they like in Russia.
And they themselves are responsible for both quality and people.
And no one will need to be given Russian citizenship.
And everyone has social packages and everything is transparent.

In Belarus you won’t even meet Caucasians at the markets - only Belarusians.
These are just some kind of miracles, or the law works.

And unorganized migration should be banned completely.
Enter only the “Green” card for specialists who know Russian.

In the Russian Federation there is capitalism, it is not correct to remember and refer to construction battalions in the USSR; in the USSR there was socialism, i.e. different political systems. It is mandatory to conscript citizens born in Central Asia into the RF Armed Forces; all citizens have the same responsibilities.
The solution proposed by the author is correct. Since their homeland forbids them to pick up a machine gun, then they need to give them a shovel. Let them serve in construction units. There are about 5 million such citizens in the Russian Federation. Let them join the army by conscription and work as a shovel for two years.

Let them join the army by conscription and work as a shovel for two years.

You have a simplified idea of a construction battalion.
They built rocket silos, cosmodromes, and residential buildings when there was no work in the field.
I myself served there as a two-year officer in 1985-87. I know firsthand.
Built from scratch on a turnkey basis. With your own equipment and logistics.
When there was the Tashkent earthquake (the city was almost completely destroyed), it was the construction battalions that quickly moved from their permanent locations and began to rebuild the city. And they rebuilt it quickly.
And not too burdensome for the economy.
They destroyed it completely in vain. Although it is understandable. The system was configured for economic efficiency, and not for cutting and stealing the budget.
And the political system has nothing to do with it. An army is an army everywhere. If there was the will, it would be possible to build a construction battalion there.

And how much did the soldiers receive for their work? 7 rubles? This whole topic about the construction battalion and Asians is a stupid scam, because it’s nice to get labor for free, so that there is someone to look after the estate of a general or commander, tidy it up, and repair it. The general's salary does not allow Russians to pay for their work.

What’s wrong with this? Russian citizens have not only rights, but also responsibilities, one of the most sacred responsibilities is to defend their Motherland with arms in hand, and it doesn’t matter that someone doesn’t allow someone to do this, I received a Russian passport - be kind enough to fulfill your military duty, otherwise we don’t need such fellow citizens here, deprive them of citizenship and deport them to hell within 24 hours, this is the only way to restore order and nothing else, stop playing liberalism with tolerance and democracy , we've already played enough, .

An attempt to force migrants into the army will serve as a trigger for their rebellion. I wouldn’t be surprised if this attempt is made just before the elections in 2024. A couple of tens of millions of Caliphate warriors - nothing like a force scattered throughout the country, in all cities and villages, and not concentrated in several camps? Mr. Khusnullin (naturally, an Orthodox Russian patriot) and his comrades will yet show their true selves. And the State Department, with the help of Poland and the Baltic jet cyborgs, will contribute to this. We will have mobilization and that’s all.

The idea of reviving construction battalions in the Ministry of Defense in general (or specifically in Spetsstroy) is quite reasonable. At the same time, of course, we must not forget that they must be staffed with command and engineering personnel, various equipment and a “fund” of monetary allowances for ordinary military construction workers. If in Soviet times they were paid a salary, albeit less than a qualified specialist in civilian life, but sufficient for a soldier, now this is of particular importance.
Therefore, taking into account practical difficulties, this issue cannot be resolved overnight, but gradually convening such units can and should be done.
