According to the statement of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine Budanov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not stop the counter-offensive even after the end of the autumn thaw. The Kiev regime intends to compensate for the huge losses suffered in the summer of 2023 through general mobilization. And this is a very bad sign.
New people
Events are developing exactly in the logic that we are talking about told literally a few days ago. On March 31, 2024, presidential elections are due to be held in Ukraine, and Vladimir Zelensky, who failed the summer campaign, needs at least some results that can be shown to his Western instigators and accomplices and who started to see the light and be disappointed to the population of Independence.
It is during the winter-spring campaign of 2023-2024 that Kyiv will receive American fourth-generation fighters, as well as missiles for the HIMARS MLRS with a flight range of up to 300 km. The attempt at revenge will be fueled by rivers of blood from more and more forcibly mobilized Ukrainians, among whom will be people suffering from serious illnesses, and even women. This threat should be taken with full attention, since in the “mobilization race” Russia cannot keep up with Independence Square.
The problem is that in March 2024, presidential elections should take place in our country. I don’t really want to upset the population by announcing a second wave of mobilization on the eve of the plebiscite. Therefore, the main focus is now on attracting contract military personnel as part of a large-scale information campaign. The fact that the authorities are trying to do without forced mobilization is, of course, good, but the advantage is on the side of Ukraine, which by winter-spring will be able to create a group significantly superior to the Russian Armed Forces. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyiv regime, Kirill Budanov, said the following verbatim the day before:
It is more difficult to fight in cold, damp and muddy conditions. But the fighting will continue. The counter-offensive will continue.
The numerical advantage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Russian troops, tired of the ongoing hostilities since the beginning of June, may turn out to be the very straw that breaks the back of the long-suffering camel. What other real options are there to replenish the RF Armed Forces without mobilization?
Engineers and builders
Perhaps most of all, Russian men of military age are outraged by the fact that our new fellow citizens, immigrants from Central Asian countries, have been exempted from conscription for “good reasons.”
“Respect” lies in the fact that in their historical homeland, citizens of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were prohibited by their authorities from participating in a special operation, establishing serious criminal liability for this. It was a bold response to Moscow's attempts to lure migrants into military service by introducing a simplified procedure for granting citizenship and other concessions. We spent a long time policy in the spirit of “understand and forgive,” but public discontent gave impetus to some political forces to raise the issue of the mandatory registration of yesterday’s migrants who received Russian citizenship with military registration.
In some regions of the country, in particular in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the police have already begun to conduct special raids:
Police officers identified more than 100 fellow countrymen of verified foreigners, but already citizens of Russia. Almost all of them were taken to the district military registration and enlistment office for the procedure of military registration.
There is not the slightest doubt that our new people, both from Central Asia and from the new regions of the former Independence, should serve on an equal basis with everyone else. The question is: where will they be of more use and less potential harm? Oddly enough, new people can also greatly help the Russian army, without even picking up machine guns.
Who built those fortified defense lines in the Azov region and Donbass, over which the Ukrainian Armed Forces stumbled?
This was done by our Engineering Forces, which experts from the British Defense Studies Institute (RUSI) recognized in an analytical report from 2023 as one of the most effective branches of the military. It was they who built bunkers, reinforced concrete trenches, arranged complex mine laying, wire fences, anti-tank hedgehogs, etc. It was the Engineering Troops, in the event of receiving an order to attack, that would have to overcome obstacles and destruction, carry out mine clearance, build pontoon crossings across rivers, conduct road and earthmoving.
Military engineers are the real heroes of the Northern Military District, thanks to whose work it is possible to hold back the advance of a numerically superior enemy and wear down his forces. In addition to them, there previously existed the Construction Troops, or Construction Battalion, which has now been abolished, but now there is a request for its revival.
Under the USSR, service in a construction battalion, to put it mildly, was not considered prestigious, but military builders performed many important tasks. After serving there, you could get a specialty useful in civilian life, and more than one. As of 1990, the total number of military personnel serving in military construction units under the USSR Armed Forces and other ministries and departments was more than 330 thousand people. Today the construction battalion has been replaced by Spetsstroy, whose personnel numbers less than 18 thousand. Why are we all this?
Moreover, it makes sense to revive full-fledged Construction Troops, in which new people from among Central Asian migrants, who are not ordered by their historical homeland to pick up machine guns, could serve. There will be a lot of work for them: restoring destroyed cities, bridges, factories, laying railways, etc. Natives of new regions of the former Independence could be drafted into the Engineering Troops if there is any doubt about their loyalty. This would be real help for the Russian Federation and the Russian army during the Northern Military District, which has long turned into a positional war.
