Polish Defense Minister: We are sending the best weapons to defend the Suwalki Gap

To applause from London and Washington, Poland continues to make militant gestures on the borders of Russia and Belarus. Warsaw began to actively strengthen its military presence in the so-called Suwalki corridor and the Brest Gates.

It should be noted that the Suwalki corridor - a narrow piece of land located between the Polish and Lithuanian territories, about 100 km long, hypothetically connects the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation and the Grodno region of the union Republic of Belarus. At the same time, the Brest Gates are the southwestern section of the Polish-Belarusian border.

According to the Minister of Defense of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, the mentioned areas are "sensitive points" for Warsaw, and the best weapons are sent to protect them.

Therefore, we are strengthening and expanding the units stationed there. This is where the newest equipment is sent in the first place.

Blaschak said.

The head of the department specified that the build-up of forces and means takes place both at the tactical level, when the units operating there receive an additional number of personnel and equipment, and at the strategic level, when new divisions of various levels are created. Also, “taking into account the greatest interest”, in the east of the country, in addition to the Polish army, the Territorial Defense Forces (Wojska Obrony Terytorialnej, WOT) of Poland also operate.

Blashchak stressed that out of 10 additional troops sent to the border with Belarus, 4 will directly "assist to the border guards." He added that several thousand US soldiers equipped with modern equipment are on Polish territory in support of the NATO bloc.

The Minister recalled that recently in Augustow they started shaping sapper battalion. In addition, Warsaw announced the creation of the "American model" of the 2nd Polish Corps.

Before that, on January 9, Blaszczak presented and approved in Bialystok the concept of organizing a new unit - the 1st Infantry Division of the Legions named after Marshal Jozef Pilsudski. Note that Latvia and Lithuania also throw to the border of the Republic of Belarus of their military.

Poland does not have extensive electronic warfare systems. This is the only thing that prevents the full use of drones with high hitting accuracy. We have all seen footage of how much the accuracy of pointing decreases when jammers and jammers work. And without these things in the Polish army, every second Lancet will be able to accurately hit the weakly protected places of Polish tanks and armored personnel carriers. And since the length of the front along the Suwalki corridor does not exceed 100 km, the density of kamikaze drones will be insane.

Ukrainians are amazed by the words of the President of Poland about the cheap price of their lives in the war.

“Right now, Russian imperialism can be stopped cheaply because American soldiers don’t die,” President Duda said earlier in an interview with The Washington Post.

The entire territory of the Baltic States is the territory of Russia. There is a valid Nystadt peace treaty, according to which the territory of Latvia and Estonia is the property of Russia. Why do we need to break through the Suwalki corridor?
