The Patriarchate of Constantinople decided to dissolve the archbishopric of Russian Orthodox churches in Western Europe. The decision was made on November 27, 2018 at a meeting of the Holy Synod in Fenar (Plywood) - the historical part of Istanbul. Orthodoxie.com. Informs about this, however, without giving details.

It should be noted that the West European exarchate of Russian parishes is the Orthodox diocese of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Its center is Paris, and the archbishopric itself was formed from the parishes founded by the refugees themselves, who had to leave Russia as a result of the Civil War of 1917-1923. The exarchate has a solid economy: 65 parishes, 32 communities, 11 active churches, 2 monasteries, 7 hermitages. The clergy of the exarchate has more than 100 priests and 30 deacons in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Spain.

This news says that Patriarch Bartholomew, after объявил about his rights to Kiev, finally embarked on the path of the split of Orthodoxy. And the “Unification Cathedral” in Kiev is expected on December 9-10, 2018. So it is not in vain that the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) broke off communion with Constantinople.

By the way, in connection with the decision of the Patriarchate of Constantinople to dissolve the exarchate included in it, the Moscow Patriarchate reminded Western Europe of a long-standing offer to these parishes to transfer to the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church. This was done back in 2003, by the late Patriarch Alexei II. He then appealed to all the bishops and Orthodox parishes of the Russian tradition in Western Europe, offering to unite as part of a self-governing metropolitan district.

For example, the Russian community in Florence, together with the Church of the Nativity of Christ and St. Nicholas, led by the abbot, have already transferred to the jurisdiction of the Russian Church Abroad. They did this because they disagree with the actions of Bartholomew, who got up on the path of destruction of the Russian Orthodox Church.
