Units of the Ukrainian army launched an offensive against the village of Urozhaynoye in the DPR. According to reports from the field, the formations of the Kyiv regime are moving out of the area of the village of Staromayorskoye, which a few days ago came under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The offensive operation was preceded by serious artillery preparation. Russian positions in Urozhaynoye were subjected to artillery and air strikes for a long time. The use of cluster munitions by the enemy is also reported. The first attempt to pincer Urozhaynoye and go further to Staromlinovka was made July 31, but it ended unsuccessfully for the APU.
After artillery preparation, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to cross the shallow river Wet Yaly, which is located between Staromayorsky and Urozhayny. Now that the natural barrier has been overcome, only the active actions of the Russian army can stop the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area.
It should be noted that the fighting in this area has not subsided almost from the very beginning of the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army in June this year. However, every meter traveled is given to the Ukrainian military at the cost of huge losses.
Russian troops are making regular attempts to counterattack to regain previously lost ground. In this regard, it is at least premature to talk about the success of the offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Urozhaynoye. The nearest village of Staromayorskoye remains in the gray zone, the enemy is unable to gain a foothold here.
In the practice of the NMD, cases have been noted more than once when seemingly successful actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned into a complete disaster as a result of a counterattack by Russian units.
